My apologies if this has been discussed, I made an honest effort to see if this has been talked about.

I've just started paying attention to Mad Men, and noticed that Marti Noxon has been involved in writing episodes. Has anyone else seen this?

I'm actually surprised Joss Whedon hasn't involved himself with the show, considering his passion for writing on female empowerment.

I have seen the show and love the show. Marti has written a few episodes and I believe is a producer.

It also has Buffyverse Alum Vincent Kartheiser (Connor!) as one of the main characters and Firefly alum Christina Hendricks (Saffron/aka The Captains Wife from Firefly).

It's set in the 1950's and it investigates many things about that era, however I wouldn't exactly say it is at the forefront of the female empowerment movement. There is exactly 1 female character who is 'breaking the bonds of male dominated society.' Most of the women pictured are very much locked into the America of the 50's.

I started to watch the show since I had heard good things about it. But I gave up after a few episodes since it didn't manage to get me hooked. But I decided that I'll give it another chance. It'll probably won't happen until summer though. I had no idea Marti was involved but had recognised both Vincent and Christina off course. But I guess Marti has been involved in many things I don't have a clue about.

The show hasn't "hooked" me either, but I still download and watch it in between other shows... but I think for females there is an undertone of empowerment throughout the show, and really shows how the men in power are big immature kids for the most part who don't know how to handle the power they're given.
