'Doctor Who' Christmas Special Appears to Be Bringing Back Matt Smith


Next month's Doctor Who Christmas special, "Twice Upon a Time" is already set to be a must-watch for fans with the departure Peter Capaldi and the introduction of Jodie Whittaker as the newest Doctor. But, if one rumor is right, there might be another reason for fans to get excited.

According to fans on Twitter, Matt Smith has been seen on the set of Doctor Who sparking rumors that the Eleventh Doctor may appear on the holiday special for his successor's (Capaldi) regeneration.

Always loved Doctor Who's Christmas specials, and this one is going to be even more interesting. I liked Matt Smith's Doctor, so will be pleased to see him again if he shows up, but I think he's going to be totally over-looked as all eyes will be on Jodie Whittakaer.

Isn't the 1st Doctor supposed to be in the Christmas special too? Maybe it's like the 50th Special and the 12th Doctor gets helps from other doctors. I'm not a big fan of the 11th Doctor, and I'm sad to see Capaldi go, but I've come to accept the new doctor and am looking for to Capaldi's last ep.

I am waiting for the Christmas Specials, it has been about 4 months so far.
I've heard that Peter Capaldi is going to be replaced by a woman doctor. Who she will be
would be either the doctors granddaughter or his daughter.
I'll be glad when Capaldi has left, as far as I am concerned he should have remained near Pompeii
or in The Musketeers.

I think she might just be a figment of his imagination helping him through his regeneration, kind of like how Amy Pond appeared to 11 before he regenerated. That's what I'm hoping any way, I don't want Clara saving the day. I actually don't know whether or not I'll be watching. Clara practically killed the show for me and Capaldi's Doctor failed to compare to the brilliance of Smith and Tennant's Doctors.

Oh yeah, I totally agree. But Clara was around for so long it was like having a cancerous tumour which chemo could not kill.

Bill was more of a massive acne breakout. Annoying, but not enough to make one consider running into traffic. Or gulping hemlock. 😛

That does NOT look like an official trailer, it looks like some sort of fanmade thing. I haven't heard anything about Clara being in this episode. God, I hope not. I liked her...ok. She's not my favorite at all. Probably my least favorite actually. But I don't hate her. I adore Bill and can't wait to see her again. But that video doesn't look anything like the trailer we had already seen.
