Okay, this is serious, so anyone who posts, please be mature. Alright, well, I did a really stupid thing.... I went over to my boyfriend's house over two weeks ago, (his parents were away) and I didn't plan on actually doing anything, but the next thing I know, we were having sex.... Now, my period is late, and I am SOOOO worried that I might be pregnant. So, what if I actually AM pregnant, how do I tell my parents, and I don't think I will be able to go to Princeton, and I know that they would be so dissapointed in me. And even then, I know that would be the least of my problems!! So, please, anyone who has gone through this, or has any advice, please share!! HELP?!?!?!?

This happened to my sister and everything is working out great, not to say that it's not hard, but everything seems to be bad right now but could could actually work out well in the future.

Secondly, I've had several scares myself. The last one being two weeks ago when I was a week and a half late. Worrying about it is actually going to delay your getting it. Your stress levels could actually make you late. If you're really worried, go to the local pharmacy and pick up a pregnancy test, most will tell you whether you are or not even as soon as the first day of your missed period. You may be worrying over nothing, and you could tell in a matter of minutes.

If you need someone to talk to, feel free to PM me too!!

Take a deep breath, honey!

First off all, immediately do what Cordelia told you! Run to the drugstore. Get yourself a home-pregnancy test (EPT is good!) You need to settle your nerves now!

Now whatever the results, you do have serious decisions to make. Obviously from your post, you are not entirely ready for parenthood, so next time, please be prepared! I'd hate for yours or a childs life to upset! If you're going to be having sex, you need to be smart about it!

If you end up being pregnant, discuss first with your boyfriend. Talk about how you want to break the news to both sets of parents. The best thing would to be let it all out right away instead of a later. They will need time to get over any shock they might be feeling, and then I'm sure they'll be ecstatic!

As for Princeton, you need to make that choice. If you're pregnant, you won't be due until after the first of the year. Probably close to February. Maybe you could take full time for the fall semester and part time for the spring semester, and then you'd have the summer off. It would be tough, but if you do it right, you can do it!

Honey, please feel free to ask my any questions that you might be having! Whether or not you are pregnant or not! And as you know, I can definitely help you out with being pregnant! 🙂

Wishing you the best!

If you are pregnant, there's nothing wrong with getting an abortion, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Do what'll make your life easier, and don't be swayed by people telling you "it's wrong" or "think about the baby." It's about you, first, foremost, and only.

Well, I've had a couple of scares myself and, Cordy's right, the stress can make you late. So, like she said, take yourself to your nearest pharmacy and get a pregnancy test. When I did this I had a friend nearby for moral support so that might be an idea. You don't want to go through this alone. Tell your boyfriend before you take the test. He should feel the same anxiety you are. Don't let him away with it. 🙂

One question that I'd like to ask you is: Did you and your boyfriend use any kind of protection?

Now, if it turns out that you are pregnant, you have a couple of choices. One is to take on your course part-time whilst looking after the child. I think this choice will be a very difficult one to pull off. Babies are very expensive and demanding little creatures. It might add a lot of stress. However, the outcome of having a baby can be very rewarding as well. Just think you'd have a mini version of you running around.

Of course, another choice is abortion. This is entirely up to you. Some people are dead-set against this kind of thing and it can be a hard choice to make. One that you mustn't let people sway you towards or against, whatever your choice may be.

The other option is adoption. This can be a good way of making sure the child lives a happy life and letting you get on with yours. School is a very important thing to me so I would possibly be swayed towards this. The downfall is that you would have to go through the pregnancy and tell your parents. It could also be very traumatic for you to have to let go of the child when it is born.

Before you make any of these decisions, get down to that pharmacy and get a pregnancy test. Calm yourself down. If you are pregnant, it's not the end of the world. If you aren't, your boyfriend and yourself will have learned a valuable lesson. Make sure he learns along with you... don't do this alone.

PM if you need to. 🙂

OMG, that's exactly what I told my b/f...."If I have to worry this much, you do too!!"
Honey~ Just wanted to put my two cents in about the abortion topic. You can of course do this if you so choose if you need to make that choice.

Just let me remind you about something. Please always keep in the back of your mind those people who are unfortunate and cannot conceive. Think about me. We were getting ready to start the adoption process. Please think about it!

i know your really scared right now i'm only 16 and i have had the fear of being pregnant 3 times so far and i'm fearing it now as well but the best thing to do is if you are afraid your pregnant take a pregnancy test and if it turns out that you really are you should first discuss it with your boyfriend... Ask him his opinnion on what to do... Etc: Have it and raise the baby, Abortion or adoption. then discuss this with your parents. They may need a day or two to adjust to the news but they will eventually come around nothing is worth loosing their daughter... so when they do discuss it with them see what they think should happen but most of all follow your heart
as for the schooling. you can be both a mother and go to college it will be hard yes but you can do anything you set your mind too.

Well, I really appreciate all of your guy's support! Earlier today, I told my boyfriend of the possibility, and he was surprisingly okay with it, I mean he wasn't jumping up and down, but he said that he would support me no matter what I would do. So, we went to the store, and picked up 3 pregnancy test. And, I went back to my house, (luckily, my parents were out) and took one after the other. They all turned out the same.... I'm pregnant. I do not know what I'm going to do regarding the baby, but I know that I will not get an abortion, I am dead set against them, and I know that I will not have one done. I still havn't told me parents, but I'm still going to go to Princeton, no matter if I keep the baby, or give it up for adoption. I'm just afraid that I will get too attached to the baby, but I'm considering maybe open adoption. I'm not sure, I guess I still have 9 more months to figure everything out... Thanks for letting me rant, and for even reading this, and responding to my post! I think I'm still shaking.....

Well, not matter what you decide to do, a baby is a blessing... It's up to you to decide whether or not its your blessing to keep, or someone elses. But you're right, you have 9 months, and who knows what situation you'll be in then. Good luck with your parents and all... And it might not be what you want right now, but congratulations anyway...

Weigh your options, you have plenty of time. You may even be surprised by your parents response after the shock wears off. Dont be too hard on yourself. I must also say that I am glad to hear that abortion isnt an option, it wasnt an option for me either, although each person is different and you never know how you will respond until faced with the choice. Will be keeping you in my thoughts and if you need to talk, PM me.

babies are not always blessings. I reallly wish you would reconsider and get the abortion. It would really be the best for you. Your life would go much more smoothly.

it's alright to express your opinion, but you should not say for her to get the abortion.
I think you should still go to the hospital and have them check you out. Those store tests can be unreliable sometimes, or so I've heard. I'm glad that your boyfriend is supportive. It makes things a lot easier for you to know you have someone backing you up. It's also important to make sure that your baby has a stable constant father. So, I'm glad he's a stand up guy that will take responsibility. But, I'm saying all of this in the situation that you keep the baby.

If you give the baby up for adoption that's fine. If you feel you're doing what's best for the baby, then do it. Even if you don't feel so attached to the baby when you have it, it's still a human being and giving it up is better than any other alternative I think. Abortion is always an option, but you said you don't want to do that.

And don't worry about what your parents think. It's your life, and they'll be upset (or happy) for a little while, but they won't stop loving you for it.

Good luck.

Good advice here. Get a definitive test at the doctor's office. And listen to the rest of the stuff too...
Well... at least you know now. Give it a little time before you tell your parents. Even get a doctor to confirm for you first. At first they will be in shock but I'm sure they'll come round and help you in your decision... whatever it may be. You have time... especially since you've ruled out abortion. I'm glad you've made a clear decision there. You stick to it hunny. Don't let anyone, and I mean anyone, talk you into changing your mind.

Take care in your decision, take your time and, mainly, take care of yourself. 🙂 I'll be thinking of you. 🙂

It is not for you to say what is the best for her. The best thing for her to do is look at all the options available so she can make an informed choice. There is a reason its called 'your opinion' and not everyone has to agree with it and follow it. Yes 'you' may think its the best thing for her to get an abortion, but its not your life and its not your decision to make.

Plus, abortions aren't that fun either, I mean most people aren't left emotionally scar-less after that kind of thing... so I just think there are different "right" things to do, for everyone, in this kind of situation.
Anyways.. Drusilla's Evil, it's great that you know. Must feel at least somewhat better than just wondering and stuff. If it feels like the right thing to do to not have an abortion, it probably is. I'm glad you have a supporting boyfriend and all (which he of course should be, but unfortunately all aren't). Good luck and stuff, really, and think this whole thing through (which you are of course doing) 🙂

Re:

Sound like things are a tad stressful for you right now. Don't worry, the panic does cease after a while. Just be strong and think positively. My daughter wasn't planned either. I concieved on my 21st birthday...And I was horrified. Still am. Motherhood isn't always easy but my daughter is my reason for breathing now. She's my angel. The decision on what to do is totally and completely up to you- and it's awesome that your boyfriends so supportive! I myself thought about adoption at one point. Although I am against abortion- again your decision. You do have plenty of time to think. All in all just be strong. A baby does not mean your life is over. Your plans don't have to change...okay, yeah so they may have to be slightly altered, but you can still get to where your going...good luck and be strong....I'm here if you need a person to chat with....

Along with what everyone else has been saying....

I'm glad you finally know. That will 'help' take the edge off. You will need to discuss your situtaion with your parents, and best wishes to you on that one! It's really great that your boyfriend is okay with it. Keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out for you.

I'm glad to hear your viewpoints about abortion. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, and nothing can be done about their opinions, there are some serious thoughts about the matter, especially considering adoption can provide someone who cannot conceive to have the joy of a child in their life. In my opinion it's the ultimate gift!

Well, honey, considering your news (and congratulations to you!), please feel free to pm me with any questions! I'm a new 'mom' also (starting my sixth week!) so I can help you out if you need anything.

Good luck...
