Actual meal plan for the week:

Monday: did eat at mums
Tuesday: bbq chicken, baby potatoes, coleslaw
Wednesday: leftovers from Tuesday
Thursday: something red lentil based
Friday: leftovers!

Haven't yet decided what I'm going to make yet with the red lentils, but I've got plenty so I'll look up some recipes.

Red lentil soup? It is soup weather at the moment!
I got some frozen processed potato gratin. Oh my gosh, it is delicious. It must be terribly bad for me. But oh so convenient! I will get this again when it is on special. Its certainly less messy than making it myself!

Made some kangaroo and cream cheese pinwheels. I really like them. Took some to my neighbour, so no leftovers.

I made that red lentil casserole, which isca bit like a curry risotto and I undercooked it slightly as I was doing it in the airfryer. However I'll cook the leftovers today and hopefully it'll taste better.

I'd make it again, but maybe with the sweet potatoes as they're so much easier to peel and chop than pumpkins!

It's sausages for the next few days, cooking them up now, and going to do a bit of a roast tonight, and then I'll see what veg I have and might do some mash tomorrow for 2 days of that.

Doing gammon in the slow cooker today for meals this week, haven't decided on what exactly yet, but I'll get it cooking and work it all out.

I live with my daughter and her husband, who is a chef, and she got him an air fryer for his birthday (today). I like chicken wings from my girlfriend's air fryer, so I expect to see some of that at home soon.

I was hungry last night so todays grocery order is double and half more than usual lol. I have a rolled turkey roast coming since the weather has changed. White bread, raspberry jam and tomatoes. I see sandwiches in my coming days. Muffins for my neighbour and bacon because it was on special. Also 2 bottles of caffeine free, sugar free coke cos chocolate was too expensive. Chick peas and sundried tomatoes to make a dip with. I shall be well fed over the public holiday 😀

Or not!
I need to go through the freezer and see what I've got and also make space for several portions of parsnip soup.

Yeah, half of it didnt turn up lol. But I still had far more than my fill of food, so no big loss.

I just did another batch of butter chicken. I bet it sounds like I live on the stuff, but I havent had it since last time I posted about it!
Im going to try some as a sushi roll with avocado. Frozen a couple small portions minus rice. There isnt much room in the freezer.

Must eat my strawberries before they get too old too.

Ordered a butterflied lamb leg, and they have shrunk! Have they shrunk the lambs? NO! So who gets the offcuts? Still the same price, of course, but I did get it on special. Says on the pack that it serves 6.... I have some potatoes cooking too. Havent had spuds for ages. Getting sandwich stuff in my grocery order tomorrow afternoon, so I can stretch it in sandwiches too. Be nice to not have to cook over the weekend.

ooh how did they transport a Big Mac from the 70s to now for that pic?
I need to go through the freezer and then write a shopping list for my online order.
Tonight I'll have something from the freezer and I'll to see if the chicken Kiev is cook from frozen or needs to defrost

I thought HelloFresh got a bit pricey, so I took a break… yet with food prices now I am honestly not saving much doing my own shopping. And now I have to plan the meals as well, ugh, eating is getting tedious

I rekon!
I have to get off the bread. Its so easy, but my legs are killing me.

I was thinking to get diced meat when it is on special. I have zucchini growing and my neighbour drops off tomatoes and white onions. Its an easy meal and if I can get 500gms of meat, its 3 meals. It is cheaper to get hunks of meat, but its too hot to be cooking long enough for it to fall apart and I cant chop it raw anymore.

The high protein pudding was on special again, so I have stocked up on that haha.

As I know I'll have less money next month, I've tried to shop enough this month to cover most of next too. I'll need some things, but the freezer is full.

Rough meal plan

Gammon, and mashed potatoes ×2

Cashew Cauliflower
Got a friend coming over for dinner, so going to give this a try, hopefully will be good.
Might do a tuna pasta dish as well this week, haven't had pasta in a while and I know I've got tins only tuna in the cupboard.

Plan on making banana bread as well.

Next two meals are salad from a bag. Pre chopped and shredded 😀 its extremely expensive, but so much easier. Its such a treat to have this sort of thing available. I should order some for tomorrow too. I just need to cook up some more chicken to shred through it.

Made the banana bread, and now trying out the new gadget, a soup maker I got from the charity shop. Just with a very basic cream of onion soup, had plenty of onions to use up from last year.
