Meaning Of Your Username?

The original White Avenger was a D&D character, a sort of Conan the Barbarian without all the warm and cuddly elements that Arnold brought to the role. (I didn't learn until much later that there was a White Supremacist comic book character by the same name)

I actually signed up for Buffy Boards while watching an episode of Angel, Five By Five. And the moment I saw Faith tear up that club dancing to Rob Zombie's Living Dead Girl, was the moment I made my username. I love the song (especially the version in Angel, cool fan vid below) and I love Faith. Why not? 😛

Ethan Raynes was a character in four episodes but he was such an interesting and underutilized presence in the show that whenever he was around, Ethan reigns!

My username simply means 'Willow, the character from the popular TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. I picked it, because I like Willow a lot.

You just made me actually LOL!
My username comes from the scene were Giles gets shot with a tranq dart and before he passes out he says 'Bloody priceless'. The line and his delivery are flawless and make me laugh everytime. I would have used the 'bloody' too but wasn't sure it'd be acceptable on the board.

Bloody right it's not! lol
Before I knew Fuffy was a ship name, I got my username from The Buffy Rewatch Podcast when they were doing the This Year's Girl and Who Are You episodes. They used the name Fuffy to talk about Faith in Buffy's body and Baith to describe Buffy in Faith's body. It just happened to be that I'm a Fuffy shipper. Lol.

That podcast was pretty great! I didn't know that's where your username was from!
In the fairly recent past (I don't think it was more than 2 years ago) reasons drove to to get a gmail account. I was a latecomer in that pool and any good names that people could associate with me were pretty much gone. At the time I only intended to use it for exchanges with a handful of people (since I don't use FB and the like). When I chose "thrasherpix" I was rather frustrated and pretty much going to go with anything that worked.

Pix is short for Pixie. When I was a small child (like age 4-5), my grandmother said I was a a mischievous, laughing pixie who could appear anywhere. She said I could be really cute with my impish laugh (even then I loved to laugh), but it bothered her at times because if I knew she didn't want me to do something, I could be especially sneaky and clever about doing it for someone my age, and she was scared I was going to get myself killed before I had any sense. (She was raising me on a farm with dangerous tools, devices, vehicles, animals, and lots of guns not locked up, and propane gas that I could easily turn on. It was a nightmare for her. That's in addition to other dangers about every child that age may face.) So instead of "Becky Jane" she called me "Pixie Jane" or "Pix" for short.

When I visited my grandmother back in 2011, and helped her as she got out of the hospital from her pulmonary embolism, she again took to calling me Pix.

Thrash was my street name when I was a runaway, because I was good on a skateboard, and back then it was notable since I was a girl. Thrash was short for "thrasher" which is what skateboarders (at least in that time and area) were called back then. (Unfortunately, my skateboard was stolen from me as I slept in an abandoned building, something that really hurt me, though I'm sure most would think I must've had it easy if that's what bothered me so much and not understand why it meant so much to me, what it symbolized, and how it comforted me and gave me hope in myself that I sorely needed in a cruel world, but I can't be bothered to explain why--it would be at least 3 paragraphs if I did, and might need an explanation for why I didn't just go to my grandmother's in the first place as well. Despite the loss of my skateboard, the nickname stuck.)

So back to needing a name for my gmail addie...at some point I tried something in that combination. It didn't work, and I started combining them with other aspects I'd explored to personalize it without adding some number after it (which strikes me as begging to send an email to the wrong person, as well as my just finding it aesthetically unpleasing). Two that I combined together were my past nicknames of "Thrash" and "Pix" but neither Thrashpix nor Pixthrash sounded that good to me (though in retrospect that last one isn't so bad). I think I sighed in relief when "thrasherpix" finally worked.

And then when I joined BB, I didn't expect to get that involved as it's a show that's been over for so long, so I was lazy and went with my gmail address. I've been toying with the idea of requesting the mods to change my name to something more appropriate to BB now that I think I'm here for much longer (and much more involved) then I expected to be. 🙂

Is it not?😀

William is my middle name..and obviously its sort of a play on William the Bloody...I panic when I have to choose a username!

I've used the same username since my days back on the BBC Buffy boards.
There you were not allowed real names or anything that could actually identify you. So when I quit lurking & actually signed up I had to come up with something Buffy related but obscure. As I was Male, British, & one of the *ahem* more mature members of that board, and had not long watched the Ep where the London Watchers got blown away by Caleb, I came up with 'The Last Watcher' as a username (The last Watcher left in England was waaaay too long 🙄 ) & I've used that ever since, wherever I go. When I joined here I left of the 'THE' from the front as I wasn't sure if there was a character limit......
