Doesn't seems to exist past S4 on DVD & even the early seasons, there's not the option of the dub in French or subtitles in French (VOST). Zone 2 😒
One of the favorite of one of my brother shows when he was a teenager, he doesn't really speak english so he wouldn't understand in VO.

I’m so mad they stopped doing blu ray or DVD releases for Netflix properties.

The one that makes me legitimately mad is Stranger Things. They only did S1 & 2, which is before things really even got to where they are now. The enjoyable S3 and the phenomenal S4 are nowhere to be seen, unless you buy a bootleg.

Orange is the New Black is also on that list, though technically they did collect all 7 seasons. They just didn’t put them all in a nice box set like they did for S1-5. Really stinks because the show is excellent, even if 6 & 7 started getting a little crazy. Still, you can at least buy S1-5 and get a somewhat complete experience, complete with a total gut punch heartbreak. 🥲

The Marvel shows are another set that are just dumb. I think they went up to S1 of Iron Fist and called it a day. No S2 of Luke Cage, no S2-3 of Jessica Jones, and insultingly no S3 of Daredevil, which is arguably the best season.

The Disney+ Shows (Star outside the US, I believe) also not being on DVD/Blu-Ray is just moronic. Mandalorian, Boba Fett, Bad Batch, all the new MCU shows, etc. You literally cannot own them unless you, again, submit to sketchy bootlegs.

The one that I’m personally the most salty about though is a show called Lost Tapes. It aired on Animal Planet for some reason LOL. It was an anthology show that consisted of 30 min found footage horror episodes, with each one documenting a cryptid or legendary creature. It was actually really effective and scary, with one S3 episode in particular, Wendigo, being actual nightmare fuel to this day. As a bonus, surprisingly educational! They brought in zoologists, biologists, historians, and cryptozoologists to give cultural insight and to help explain the legends. It’s actually really fascinating to watch in between all the scary stuff.

They didn’t do DVD releases after S1, which was alright but definitely felt cheap. S2 was when they started putting good money into it, and S3 was insane. They really cranked up the dial. For reference, S1 had a lot of off-camera stuff happen. S3 ended with an episode about Reptilian aliens and you saw slithering tails and saw people being suffocated and wrapped into Saran Wrap cocoons. It was crazy and really good.

To make matters worse, S1 is out of print and will run you at least $100 USD on secondhand sites! You also can’t stream it anywhere. The only option to watch it at the moment is to go to YouTube, but I really wish they would’ve done a big DVD release. Loved the show so much

Even if they are available for legit purchase , I find most the new stuff is ruinously expensive . I would buy Wynonna Earp ,IZombie , The Magicians, Stranger Things, Teen Wolf and others on blu ray tomorrow if cash was no object .

Same-same for Charmed . It's out there but £140 for a set ? Loads of others too . For instance, the version of Babylon5 I watched online was more polished than the DVDs I bought ...and it's not the only B5 remaster out there . I ended up spending about £13-14 for the normal DVDs, figuring I'd never afford a 'collectors edition' .

I find the old titles annoying sometimes too . You could obtain a copy of 'Beauty and the Beast' (1987) or La Femme Nikita (1997), or Moonlighting, or the Avengers , but you would pay collectibles prices for some dubious content .

I would love 'Just Shoot Me' and 'Dharma and Greg'. Maybe 'Cybill', 'Ellen' or 'Grace under Fire' too...all shows I enjoyed but never truly watched through on broadcast tv . Just barely available for the UK as region 1 imports .

Plenty of streaming shows I'd like to own (or get from the library), but they never come out on DVD.

Also, there are some BBC radio series I'd like to own, but they are never made available to purchase. If you don't catch them when they are airing, or for about a month afterwards, you are forever out of luck!

I recently ran across an old cartoon a rock and roll fable type on youtube or daily motion. The Devil and Daniel Mouse, would love this on DVD, I've checked around and the asking price is a couple hundred dollars. Pass. A few CD singles but they are very hard to find. A few miniseries on DVD. Some movies too, older movies.

Getting Northern Exposure in any proper format is still pretty difficult.

Both shows are still two of my favourite cartoons and have aged well imo.

For example 'Jack the bear' with Danny Devito.

Luckily i have a copy but if i lost it, it would be hard to replace. I'm sure there are other DBDs like this too.

Re: Northern Exposure; The problem is, this series licensed a lot of music, and making a complete DVD is something of a chore. The Region 1 has generic music, the region 2 DVD has generic music, the region 2 blu ray has the true soundtrack, and is the gold standard. But, for reasons unknown, it's not on streaming in any form. So, I do have it, heck, I purchased the little orange coat version. But the lost music.

My current wishlist for shows that are only streaming: Sense8 (Netflix), Pose (aired on FX/HULU), Claws (aired on TNT/HULU), Russian Doll (Netflix). I have only seen S1 for Pose and Claws online, none of the other seasons. All of these shows are finished except Russian Doll. And I've never found a proper box set for Jane the Virgin, but I do see each season individually online. I'd recommend all of these shows but they are very different.

For the longest time, I wanted Journeyman (2007) on DVD but it didn't exist in the American market. But, I found this little online store in Vermont recently that made their own version based off the European DVD version, case, discs, and special features all included! I have gotten through most episodes, but I am so sad to finish the series because it was a one-off from NBC. But it was made really well! Even better than Timeless, in my eyes!

I wish that New Amsterdam (2008) was on DVD. There were only 8 episodes, but it was about this guy who was blessed/cursed with immortality after saving a Native American in the 1600s. When he is killed, he is brought back to life. Similar in premise to Forever (2014), but instead of a doctor, this guy is a NYPD detective solving murders. I never watched Forever because I always thought it was a blatant rip off of New Amsterdam.

Okay, this one is downright criminal.

Anyone remember “Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction”? Late 90s, early 00s show hosted by Jonathan Frakes. Used to air on places like SyFy or Chiller (great but forgotten & dead channel) here in the US.

The basic premise was that each episode was a compilation of stories, some real and some not. Sometimes all were fabrications. The point was to watch each story and decide if what happened was fact or fiction. For example, some episodes included stories like a woman who explored her dream house as an astral projection or a bizarre junk collector who seemingly survived the Titanic but mysteriously vanished one day. Running themes included supernatural happenings, mysterious strangers, finding oneself in bizarre situations, and unexplained phenomena.

Frakes would introduce each story with some analogy or question regarding illusions, then he would cap off the episode with the reveals of what was fake and what wasn’t. Actually kind of captivating and fun to play, plus it only ran for an hour with commercials (so ~45 mins).

They have NEVER released it on DVD. Or VHS, for that matter. I believe it’s a rights issue, but I have searched high and low and have found diddly squat except for fan bootlegs. C’mon guys, get this one out! It was only like 3 seasons and it was fun to watch! Plus Jonathan Frakes is great!

@Plasma Yes I really liked Beyond Belief for the reasons you’ve already mentioned. Caught reruns of the show a few years ago on cbs reality uk and it was still fun to watch.
