Meeting people off the internet

I don't have a problem with meeting people from online. Most of my friends I've met online anyways. I just wouldn't meet them face-to-face immediately.

When I was 12, I met this girl on jeremysumpter.com who lived in the city next to mine. She moved to a city three hours away... and when I was 15, she came up to visit. We're still friends... been friends forever, will be friends forever. And we've met each other in person multiple times.

I also met my girlfriend in person who I met here on BB.

I've met one person IRL twice. We're on a couple of Harry Potter forums together and me, her and a couple of others are always chatting to each other on skype. She lives in Manchester, so when I've been down there I arrange to meet with her. First time I was SO nervous but the second time it was quite relaxed and nice! I also plan to meet the other people I was on about this summer when one of them is coming over from the US!

Just a reminder to everyone to be extremely careful when meeting people you met online. Make sure it's in a public place and that someone you know knows where you're going. Don't take chances.

I met Faith, Cordelia and Jacklyn a few years back, which I think was five years after meeting Faith online. Old Master blew us off and didn't show up 😛

YOU! you LIE! She lies, folks. Fibber! LOL! I had to work! :p:p:p
I've never met anyone from off line in person, but my best friend met her current boyfriend on a dating site. They've been together for about two years now and have just moved in together 🙂

aww thats so cool :)
I used to be on a Harry Potter forum and a few years ago met up with some people from there, and it was great. We all got along well and I still talk to them now, and would consider them amongst my good friends.

I've met a few girls from the fic-writing side of BtVS fandom, one several times, and again, it was a great experience and I know I'll be meeting them again in the future.

And I met up with some BBers at last year's Hallowhedon. I've also been to some James Marsters events and seen some of the ladies from the JM fandom on LJ; didn't talk to them but I recognised them from my f-list.

I've not had anything but good experiences in meeting up with my fandom friends, but I got to know everyone really well beforehand, in all cases chatting to them online for more than a year.

The only person that I have ever "met" online first...went to my school haha guess that doesn't really count. If there was a huge BB meet up, I'd probably go, but I'd be cautious about meeting someone one on one. For the most part, I trust that people on here are who they say they are, but you never know 😉.

I met a guy from OkCupid last week. It went great. We have alot in common. I was skeptical, but honestly, dating online gives you a chance to meet people you wouldn't normally meet. It's a good tool.

I guess online dating is ok, just along as you're not being scammed. I saw a woman on tv the other week who got scammed by some guy pretending to be in the armed forces.

I'm guessing you're not being scammed though - so good luck, I hope it goes well for you 🙂

I don't meet people off the internet, I don't feel safe enough to do so. Unless it's in a convention or something.
