Meeting so-called Buffy fans "in the wild."

I've never met another Buffy-fan in person. Period.
I also don't talk a lot about the series with other people. But that's why I came here.

I've meet two in RL(not counting people I'm related too) and they were HUGE fans. So that was nice, to find people to talk Buffy with.

One was a bit disapointing though, because she could be somewhat condescending. I asked her if she had watched Firefly too, and she answered something like this "Well, duh".

Otherwise, I haven't really meet any fans, just people that might have watched it.

Oh, wait, in fifth grade or something, I heard one of the bullies in my class talk about Buffy, saying it was awesome to his friends, other bullies. I had just discovered it, seen a few episodes of season 1, and was shocked that this monster could like the same things as me. I almost stopped watching, but luckily enough, I sticked with the show.

I watch it with my best friend occasionally, but she's not really into it that much. She asked me who Faith was last time we watched it together :/

When I used to work at Blockbuster, our security guard used to walk in saying random Buffy quotes. Also, at my new job, I found out one of my co-workers LOVES Buffy and Amber Benson. So naturally, yeah, we geeked out lol. Now we are discussing Ringer after each episode airs lol

My best friend in junior high was a Buffy fan. We didn't know about each other at first. But afterwards, it was amazing to see how Buffy could create friendships.

I got one of my best friends really hooked on Buffy (she's seen every episode). Anyways, I was with her during the first time she watched "Passion". Our conversation went something like this.
(Jenny's neck gets snapped.)
Friend: Woah, what just happened?
Me: I know. *Sniffle* It's sad.
Friend: Why? He just punched her in the face.
Me:... No, he just snapped her neck!
Friend: What!?!?
Me: Um, yeah...
Friend: But... I thought that he... Never mind.
Me: *Facepalm*.

I've only been lucky enough to meet a couple Buffy fans "in the wild" and neither of them were as hardcore as me. They were the type to watch it once in a while, if they happened to catch it on TV, but when I invited them here they looked at me as if I'd grown another head.

Well, you might have meet your match as far as a fan goes, hahahah.

The fans, besides friend of mine, that I've meet in random say they like the show but will turn around and tell me something completely odd about the show. Im thinking, did we watch the same show?

A co-worker of mine was telling me how Spike slept with Buffy before Angel and when Angel did he was evil, and something about Buffy being pregnant.. I really just wanted to say 'wtf are you talking about??' but I was just nice.. better to meet a potential fan than a hater of the show 🙂

That's what usually happens. Or they'll have really ridiculous theories. Ugh. I've only met one Buffy fan who seemed legit and she was convinced that Xander was a tool who mocked Anya for having "cultural differences"...which is cool. I enjoy debates. But she pronounced "Giles" like the buffybot, and had no idea who Faith was. That was the closest that I've ever come to finding a Buffy "fan". Most people I speak to have only seen a few episodes that they can't remember the names of haha.

I've met quite a few Buffy fans. Some from here and some from my village...we always end up talking about the hottest characters/actors lol. I think I've been quite lucky.

I've actually found out recently that quite a few friends of mine are Buffy fans! 😱 But I don't think they're as hardcore as I am, because when I try talking about the show, they don't get very enthused, and all they usually talk about is who they ship Buffy with. 😛

A friend of mine has a brother who is a hardcore fan though and he even has the comics. I told him I was a fan too when I was at their house, and he didn't say anything back... He was a very quiet person...

But when I talked with his brother who I'm actually friends with, he hasn't seen all the Buffy episodes, but he's still a fan of it, and he says that Scooby-Doo is actually a way better show. I don't even....

When will I meet a hardcore fan like me?? D:

It's funny! Cause I have never met a Buffy fan until one day I was blasting the once more with feeling sound track in my car on the way to kholes. I parked and this mom and her daughters came running up to my car yelling is that Buffy!! We love Buffy! The mom told me they watch Buffy every night and the little daughter says she is Buffy haaaaaa we talked for a good 20 mins !! 🙂 only time ever!
