Member pics question

Ok, so I (now) know that member pics threads are not allowed. And although my virtual *sigh* is nearly audible, I do understand why. Are we allowed to post inside an already existing thread pics at our own risk, or links to pics, or just none whatsoever?
 
You *can* post photos of yourself in other threads at your own risk. HOWEVER please don't spam just to post a pic of yourself. It should be necessary to the thread or it will be deleted.

On a side note, considering that the reasoning for the rule change is to protect members safety after a very real incident on the board, your "virtual sigh" is not really appreciated.

It wasn't directed at you or the boards, but rather that we live in a world where worrying about this becomes a real necessity
It sounds like a good idea, esp since there seems to be a lot more younger members here than other forums I'm on.
 
Yeah I agree there are alot of younger members and posting pics online isn't a great idea, plus like people said theres facebook if you really want to share your pictures.
 
Not trying to sound rude or anything but the first thing I noticed before I even registered to join was the faq's and i think in there there was a bit about posting pictures. If only people took the time to read these things before posting. It would save a lot of time, and prevent any hiccups from happening.

It's not rude or mean. I would think reading the rules is just common sense.

Well, yeah, but considering this is a recent rule change and some of us have been here awhile, we don't always go back and check the FAQ recently

I don't know. I've joined so many forums in the past I generally don't even bother reading the rules anymore since so much if it ends up being the same. In addition when OP first joined that wasn't part of the rules. Just saying.

I knew my post would get me in trouble lol...I wasn't saying it because of randiann. I am aware that this all happened after she joined. I was just saying it in general. Also, other forums I used to attend had the same rules and things kept happening which is why I stopped posting.

I am going to kick myself for this now lol didn't mean for you guys to mis-understand me!
 
Well, no, even thought I agree with DarlingVioletta that I don't usually read the rules either, I probably should. For example, the rule here for posting links (like to an article for example) is that you should then post the article (or the majority of it, anyway). On other forums I'm on that's forbidden since they interpret that as copyright infringement. Not saying whether one way is right or wrong (I actually have no clue), just saying that had I read the rules, I would've known about that beforehand.
