Magic addiction isn’t real. If you think it’s real, the only source for such a thing is a TV show, that should be not be treated as a accurate source of information about Wicca, as again, Wiccans don’t claim to be able to raise the dead through use of Egyptian artifacts and bambi blood. If you would like to learn more about a religion, any religion, you should consult reliable and accurate sources, not fantasy TV shows.

Animal sacrifice is one thing Wiccans are really against, I'd hate to think that people thought it was an actual representation of Wicca.

genghiskhan, if you go back into the annuls of time you'll find many examples of animal sacrifice by all religions. It was okay back then.
It was mostly Wiccans who first promoted Buffy to me, and loved the season 4 depiction (including of the kind Willow met in college that they'd call "fluffy bunnies" though "Wannablessedbeies" was another good name for them after the show provided it). Season 6 was divisive when many did not like how either the fundies or new agers depicted their religion, and some felt season 6 did a bit of both, combined them, and just added "essence of Joss." Here, I found a surviving letter and commentary from those days:

After that, their recommendations for the show waned, but didn't stop completely. After that it was mostly lesbians (though also unhappy with season 6 when Joss decided to bury the lesbian for plot) who did, along with The L Word. I ended up watching both at about the same time and to this day (just a couple of weeks ago actually) I can dream of Buffy and The L Word at the same time (that is the characters from both show up).

Beyond that....suffice to say magic like that is as real as the magic in Harry Potter, at least for any who advertise. 😉

I finally read all off that witchvox.com and jeez there are a lot of idiots about.
I'd like all members to have a good think about this and guess what thread thrasherpix will make a post of only three or four lines. Oh and tee hee, that was not meant as me being nasty.

While admittedly rare, I bet I make more posts of 4 lines or less than you do of completely coherent posts. :p
