Members who don't post

I was just wondering something- I was going through the members list to see if this screen name that I wanted to change to was taken [it was ::crying2: ] and I noticed that there were tons of members who have been registered for along time and who have only posted like once if at all. Doesn't that waste bandwhidth or what ever its called? I was thinking that maybe you guys should email all of the members here at buffy boards and remind them to post or delete them. The person with the screen name Angelus (the one I wanted) joined on April 30 2003 and only posted once. I'm not trying to tell you mods what to do, I'm just bringing up a thought.
 
I get it..But I think it'd be a bit hard to do as some registred memers might have changed their e-mail addresses..
 
That's a good idea😀...it dosn't concern me anyway,I'm Magui everywhere lol😛...nah,well,seriously,I guess you're right,it could be done,though it would be complicated...I think...
 
If I recall it right, I believe, that if you don't log onto the boards for half a year, you get deleted. I believe this rule was made, last time there was a big sweep of inactive members. Offcourse, if those members are lurkers (they do read the posts but never reply) they won't get deleted.

Anyway, I don't know if that rule still stands, you'd have to ask the staff.

EDIT: Couldn't find anything...we should wait for an Administrator to sign in...
 
We do periodically go through and email and then delete inactive members. However, something to remember is that some people don't want to post, they just want to lurk, so I don't think its fair to tell them they can't just because they have a good username 😉

It doesn't really take up bandwith, it's more that it takes up server space.

Oh,I get it🙂,..anyway,I don't see the point of reading and not posting..I jsut can't do that,I post everwhere!lol😛
 
So is there a rule for how many days I can be away from the forum(not even lurking) to get my account delated??
 
We have no set rule. In the past we've done six months since last visiting the boards. But we email first to give people a chance to keep their account.
 
Will you be having another hack of members like you did before anytime soon, to make more space on the server?!?!
 
Well, this is my first post. People who dont post I find very annoying. In the end, on my site, I just ban them. Well, first I give them a warning before I ban them. Hope this helps.
