Memories of 2011

I liked 2011. Some things that stuck out:

1. My husband moved to my town after we had a long distance relationship for 1,5 year.
2. I started a feminist bookclub and got 5 wonderful new friends
3. Got voted member of the year at the VH awards and got the golden boy award at the BB cermony. That was so sweet of you guys, made me really happy.
4. Got a job I liked.
5. Got a job I LOVE.

Came home from my first deployment
engaged in combat / received a Purple Heart
death of Bin Laden (wasn't involved of course, lol)

my 5 year marriage anniversary with my wife

finally OWNED my first vehicle and its a Jeep Wrangler, wup wup =)

spent a lot of time with my family
did a lot of camping, hiking, running, kayaking, enjoying life

For me, the BIGGEST memory of last year for me was going to Atlanta to be part of WrestleMania 27. (And didn't have to pay one red cent for it either, aside from food and drink while there....the airfare, hotel and tickets were all paid for; see, I was one of a few contest winners who won that prize(either 2010's WM or last year's).)

-moving into my new house with my boyfriend + decorating etc took up most of my year!
-going to my first convention! (Hallowhedon 3)
-started my new job
-arthritis getting worse 🙁
-summer festival/camping

I don't even know where to begin with this. 2011 was the effing best year of my life, no exaggeration, and SO MUCH happened it...and I think this was also the first time I was really nostalgic to let a year go. Sooo, in no specific order, here's what made 2011 memorable for me:

1. I got my Bachelor's degree (Psychology) and started my Master's
2. I spent a semester abroad in the States. Since this is the biggest thing, I'll split it up a bit
a. the travelling. It was my first time in the States, and the awesomest bit was spring break in Las Vegas. Furthermore we went to Washington, Baltimore, Buffalo, Philly, Toronto (Canada), the Niagra Falls, New York and Chicago
b. the people. I made some friendships for life their. First with the girl from my uni I went with (we knew each other before but this is where we became really good friends), our American friends, the Korean exchange girls...
c. loads of new stuff I'd never done before, including going tanning, getting my first piercing (belly button; got a couple of more later in 2011), the extreme level of partying we did, my whole taste in music changed and just the experience of American college life
3. After I came back, I spent the entire summer in Brighton (England), where again I made a lot of new friends and also got my first job ever...oh, and I visited Nix 😛
4. The Brighton-revival trip we did, where some of us who met there and became friends went to Amsterdam together
5. Guy-stories from this year. I don't want to go into detail, because some of it isn't exactly PG rated, but there were some pretty heavy game changers for me that happened in 2011 with guys...some for better, some for worse
6. In 2011 I started to seriously learn French and basically become obsessed with it
7. discovering and watching That 70's Show all the way through

Taylor Swift & Katy Perry Live
Watched all of Btvs for the first time this past year 🙂
Osama Bin Laden Killed & the 10th Anniversary of 9/11
Two pretty big deaths this year among close friends/family
Have yet to get lower than a B in any course since 2011 started 😀
My Phillies made some pretty huge acquisitions
Overall I think I became a better person from the time 2011 began until now, and I hope to continue that trend.

Well, I graduated high school, I finally got a job, I passed all of my Fall classes, and I met some new people in my film class who actually enjoy making films.

Not really an exciting year but I accomplished most of my goals. Unfortunately, the new year hasn't started off too great. I need a car and I need Spring semester to start now.

- Falling in love.

- Seeing Glee Live in Chicago and having Lea look directly into my eyes after she signed my CD insert. I thought I was going to DIE. Jenna also looked at me too and Ashley Fink told me she loved me so basically I win at life.

My daughter's dad started seeing her again.
I made some new amazing friends.
I started at a gym.
I had an amazing Christmas and daughters birthday.
My daughter started full time school.

2011 was a bit of a blur for me - a good blur, but I am finding hard to pinpoint exact moments or memories.
-The best thing was meeting my boyfriend, I have had such a wonderful time with him and we are weeks away from our first anniversary🙂
-My pony came home to me and stayed with me for quite a few months and won quite a few Champion ribbons
-I found the right medication to treat my Bi Polar and I feel better now than I have in almost 10 years!

I am really looking forward to 2012 and the joys it will bring 🙂

Too many to mention. The two that stand out from all of te others, though:

1) Returning to the Alamo and being able to share it with my family.

2) A reunion with friends who I haven't seen since college and drinking a toast to the Third Musketeer, gone from this world, but never from our hearts.
