Too many sad memories in Season 2...It was however the Best BANGEL SEASON OF ALL!!!!!!! but thats a no brainer!

Jenny's murder, Buffy's sacrificw of true love - were the saddest moments of this season,
The important ones: Buffy's finally accepted her destiny, Willow gets a boyfriend who will lately put major impact on her further development.

Saddest: When Buffy realizes Angel is evil in Innocence....actually ALL of Innocence is the saddest moment. That and the Full of Grace scene in Becoming Part Two
Funniest: Hmm...Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered when Jenny comes onto him and when Joyce comes onto him, because those were the most unlikely two and his reaction to both just makes me laugh every time though really the entire episode was hilarious
Most Touching: In Reptile Boy when Giles tells Buffy how he pushes her so hard because he knows what she has to face. But he isn't going to push anymore, there's just going to be an inordinate amount of nudging. :-D. Lovin Giles. Other touching moment is in Innocence at the end when Buffy is on the sofa with her Mom.
Most Impowering: It's only a small moment but in Innocence(I love that episode okay?? haha) when she sees the writing on the wall saying 'Was it good for you too?' and Buffy says 'I know what I have to do. Kill him'

Saddest: buffy killing angel, "full of grace" and leaving sunnydale. willow catching xander and cordelia kissing and her saying that this meant he would rather be with someone he hated than be with her. angelus': "was it good for u too?"
Funniest: spike. just him in general.("It's a big rock. Can't wait to tell my friends. They don't have a rock this big.")

angelus: "Now that's everything, huh? No weapons... No friends...No hope. Take all that away... and what's left?"
buffy: "Me."
and if i may, i want add the most painful scene which would definitely have to be the first talk buffy and angelus have where he calls her a "real pro" after they had sex. i cant watch that scene

I LOVE when Buffy catches the sword and says that she's left! I always want to cheer. DEFINITELY the most empowering moment in Season 2 (and for me, up there as the most empowering moment in Buffy.

The saddest part of season 2 for me was Becoming Part 1 & 2, the death of Kendra and then Angel was heart breaking!!
The funniest for me was Halloween, I thought Cordy and Willow were hillarious in this episode!!
The most impowering was Surprise and Innocence, the storyline was very moving and it had a very realistic twist on it. Not the whole boyfriend turning into a serial killer but the message that most guys, once a girl has slept with them, changes mostly for the wosre.

Over-generalise much? Even in the show this isn't the case! Oz is the perfect gentleman, Riley....well, Riley stays boring, but no more so than before, and Spike gets a soul, sacrifices himself for the world, and becomes a Champion for the PTB!
The most empowering moment for me was Willow's taking off the sheet in Halloween. Shows that most girls are really sluttly on the inside and mostly want to be seen as sexual objects.
It is my most empowering moment though. For the real reasons.

I don't think 'slutty' was exactly the message that was being sent out and I don't think talking about women in that way is very appropriate either in real life or on the Buffy Boards.

I don't think the scene where Willow takes off the sheet in Halloween represents her desire to be seen as a sexual object as much as it represents her growing confidence, but I suppose you can interpret it however you want. Anyway, onto my list...

It's hardly supposed to represent most guys though, is it? If that was the case and that was what Joss believed then the ratio throughout the show would have been different to what it was. Angel's turning Evil was completely counteraceted by Spike's turning good, both on a literal and metaphorical level. You can't make sweeping generalisations like that, and Joss certainly didn't. Just as Joss wasn't saying that most teenage girls have an inner skank fighting to get out.....
And about Oz...that's exactly what I was saying....
I appreciate that you were being ironic...more because you said so afterwards than from reading your original post...but I think you were a little too subtle for many of us.
Sweeping sexist generalisations such as that above can be offensive to some and you should be careful when you use it as irony to make a point or possibly not use it at all.
Just to add to what Mr.Pointy has already said, this generalisation that all men are dogs is just as offensive as all women being sluts. I appreciate that you were speaking within the context of the show but throwing sweeping generalisations like that out is a dodgy business. While it may be true of some men (and indeed some women) it in no way emcompasses every male on the planet. Try to avoid using generalisations, they can be dangerous topics to delve into and frequently land you in hot water.

And yet, nobody picks up on the sweeping sexist generalisation made by Jules? Was that one any less offensive, especially considering it wasn't used ironically or to prove any point other than itself?
And Jules, Spike's attempted rape of Buffy had nothing to do with her initial sleeping with him. That was a whole different issue, to do with her leading him on and using him. Plus, he did, you know, go and get a soul after doing so. Would the old Spike have felt any kind of remorse for what he had done? You have to remember, we're talking about a Vampire here. Did Angelus repent? No. Spike did. Riley was devoted to her. Oz never pressured Willow in any way. Xander turned Buffy down in BB&B. Only Angel and Parker changed in the way you are suggesting.
And just to be perfectly clear: I don't see that scene with Willow in Halloween in the way I portrayed above. At all. I love it for (as I said in that very post) the real reasons of Willow gaining enough self confidence to feel comfortable in herself no matter what she is wearing. God, If Joss had been trying to say that most teenage girls had an inner skank, then why would he have had Buffy want to be a princess!

Okay, so here's my moments in season two....
Saddest:
Probably Buffy/Angelus' first talk in "Innocence". I thought it was really symbolic to what can really happen in some encounters, and after watching this couple for two years it's really heartbreaking to see. The worst part was that we all knew that wasn't Angel, but Buffy didn't. You just want to fly through the screen and shake her until she gets that "IT'S NOT HIM!!!!". I almost cried, maybe actually did. Breaks my heart evertime!
(Although Buffy killing the ensouled Angel in "Becoming"? Definitely a close, CLOSE second!).
Funniest:
The "someone wasn't worthy" line by Spike, in "Becoming". Hands down. You can't get any better than that-- really just put Angelus in his place 😀 I think Spike probably got some of the best lines of the year in this episode.
(Afterthought: When Joyce/Spike meet after the "mom, i'm the slayer" thing-- that's good too!)

That's tough: really tough. I'd probably have to say again, in Becoming, when Buffy looks like she's going to be beat by Angelus, this speech:
I think that it was just so "WOOT WOOT" worthy (for lack of a better moment) and really just encompassed the whole point of the show: she is the slayer, she doesn't need anything to back her up-- she'll kick your butt regardless. I don't know, it was just so awesome to watch, and especially given what happened afterwards I think it was just one of those "key moments" in the show!
