Hello!
I can't always mention other people, especially when the username is made of more than one word 😀 for example I can mention Darla but not This Year's Girl (sorry for using your names)! I didn't quite get how the whole thing works, isn't is enough to put @ before the name? thanks 😀

oh never realized! Cool thread!
I've noticed this too. I never get any messages about someone mentioning me. I think it's because you can't mention someone that doesn't have a name that "connects completly" if that makes sense. Like I don't have any underlines between my words. You can however mention me if you write [ mention ] this year's girl [ / mention ] without the spaces. It's a little more effort than just writing @ though 😀

I had no idea, thanks for the tip!

That's how I do it too.
Ok let me give it a try 🙂
This Year's Girl

Ok something went wrong there, I wrote [ mention ]This Year's Girl[ /mention] without spaces but nothing happened 🙂

Hm, strange! Does this work This Year's Girl ?

Huh? That's so strange! I thought that would work... 🙁

I think it is the apostrophe that is breaking the mention.

Okay, if you want to mention someone with apostrophe's in their name, you need to use the tags instead of the @.

Username[ /mention]

This Year's Girl

You can find userid by mousing over the person's name in one of their posts, and you can see the number of the userid at the end of the link in the statusbar.

Living Dead Boy
Darla

Umh what's not working? I wrote Darla with no spaces but I didn't mention you 🙁

Thanks for your help! But I can't see my usernumber. 🙁 Do I have to select (is that the word? I mean "mark" it so the background turns black) and right click or something? Lol, I really suck at computer language in english, but I hope you get what I mean. 🙂

Ok Darla thanks a lot 🙂
This Year's Girl you have to see someone's usernumber you have to place the curser of your mouse over that someone's username and at the very bottom of your browser page will appear the link of that user's profile page. The last numbers of that link are your usernumber!

oooh, now I see it! Thank you!
So, I guess, like zero progress has been made on this so far?

Progress was made, see this post:

I notice it happens with ones that have spaces in their usernames. Their username isn't underlined when I mention them.

brinkster130 agrees: Have you tried it using the tags rather than the "@" ?

I haven't. I'll have to write down the code for the tags so I remember how. It usually happens when I try to mention Lu @NY State Of Mind His username is a little tricky to mention.

Most times, I copy & paste someone's username to ensure that the mention works. Which works for the most part.

Rudeness like this is the surest way to get NOTHING done. Being a jerk gets you nowhere.
Well, being nasty and controlling and pathetically power hungry apparently works for you just fine. I was asking a question. How does that make me a jerk? To hell with you. With this place. I'm done here. You treat me like shit for no apparent reason. I don't have to put up with such disrespect. Toodles. TTFG. Ta Ta For Good.
