Merl!!

I liked Merl a lot. He was funny. I was actually kind of upset by the way he died. Really, I was kind of upset by the way the fang gang treated Merl, too. He wasn't a bad guy for a demon, at least not as far as I could tell. The Scoobies treated their pet demon (Clem) a lot more nicely.
 
Way more nicely!! If only Angel investigations had manners!! Hanging him upside.... hitting, making fun of lol!!!!
Still I didn;t like the way they treated him, even if it was hilarious lol, his end was sad, as were most of the demons in that ep
 
At least Angel did try to find out who had done it. And at least it did make him stop and think -- to some extent -- about how he had treated Merl.
 
Yea, for a small second it looked like her cared lol. Funny how they had him on the top of their list of suspects though ^.^
But he did seem like he cared somewhat
 
If you listen to the voice and manner of speaking, there's several demons that sound just like Merl.
 
Have a listen to the demon at the bar with the broken horn, when Angelus went for drinkies at a pub, that's a thought did he ever have to produce his ID.

Try to think of Angelus saying Anya's line...... I'm 250 !, just give me a frikkin' beer !
 
I loved Merl, I thought he was hilarious. And when he was their, albeit tortured and unwilling, source for something big he was able to bring a humor to the much darker episodes. And the way he delivered his lines! He just realy, eally made laugh- so yeah, I was kinda sad when Gunn's gang did what they did. And it sounded a pretty erm...grusome ending too.
And yeah, Illyrian you're right about the demon at the bar- that was very much the Merl guy. The voice was instantly recognizable
 
I always saw Merl as ANGEL's Willie the Snitch basically a talking punch bag...I liked him though he was fun

I was going to give you Karma for this because that's a good and funny point, but it appears that I gave you Karma last time. Anyway, here's what I woiuld have said had I been able to give you Karma: "Haha! I agree. Very funny."

It's not poetry, but it's a compliment. 🙂
