Many years ago I was writing a tale called Gwen and Ruhtra, I liked the concept so I wrote it as nine TV episodes. Whilst I was writing my tenth episode the series Merlin started on the goggle-box. Bugger I thought.
Because in my tale after Gwen died her sister was named Gwen of in the vere (Gwenivere) and Ruhtra was changed to be a better person so he altered his name back to front (Arthur). There were a few variations but Merlin was the Lord of all Learning, his sisters were The Lady of the Lake and Queen Maab ( I will use her under a different name) she will be the Lady of the Land, overall, it was in essence a tale of Merlin as per the legend.
So I never watched what was on the telly, until this last year when it was shown nightly on the ABC.
I was seriously disappointed at how crap it was portrayed. Reckon I'm going to attempt to write the 1000 page book I had intended to do.
Luckily for me it is a legend and as such it cannot be copyrighted.
