Americans seem to love my accent, no idea why, it's well common!
MERRICK CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!
And a big thank you to all the merrickans who worked so hard on this 🙂
Sorry about the sidewayness, I was in a rush as read my clock wrong and then suddenly realised I was gonna be late for work.
If anyone wants the transcript, here it is:
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the dorms
Not a creature was stirring, not even the mods
The stockings were hung by the sorting tome with care,
In hopes that Old Master soon would be there.
Buffy-Boarders were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of cookie dough danced in their heads.
Darla in her murd'rous shoes, and Faith in her cap,
Had just settled their brains for a long winter’s nap.
When on the main page there arose such a clatter,
Darla sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the Bronze she flew like a flash,
Opened up the topics and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Just like Amends gave such a wond'ous glow,
When, what to her wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
She knew in a moment it must be one with mod-stick.
Faster than vampires his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Kean! now, Lyri! now, Mumrik and Crabby!
On, V'Girl! On, AB! on, on Nix Emz and Amy!
To the top of the page! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!
As spike in his 'ship has learnt how to fly,
When they meet with the big-bad, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of fan-art, and Old Master too.
And then, in a twinkling, she heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As she drew in her head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Old Master came with a bound.
And then, in a twinkling, I saw from the router
The red of the light, with a little jitter.
As she drew in her head, and was turning around,
O'er the firewall Old Master came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
Right down to his expensive yet affordable boots.
A bundle of banners he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.
His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He typed not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger on top of his mouse,
And with just a click, o'er the firewall he rose!
Sprang to his sleigh, to Merrick gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But she heard him exclaim, ‘ere he logged out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
