Mesmerized...

What grabs your attention, and forces you to watch? What could you watch for hours on end, fascinated? Some people love to sit and watch a fish tank full of fish. Some like to watch pottery being made, or glass being blown. I love to watch people paint with a brush...not on the wall, on a canvas. I clicked onto a TV show where a guy was painting a landscape and I sat riveted for the entire half hour...couldn't take my eyes off it. And bricklaying. I could watch bricks being laid for hours. I don't get why, and maybe it's just me, but do YOU have something you are mesmerized by? What is it?

no, but seriously....music of anysort at anytime...with the exception of country. i could listen to music hours on end just staring at a wall...
 
Flames. Fire. If I'm in a room with a roaring fire going..I get lulled into this sort of trance...just staring and staring at it.

Also..the ceiling fan in my bedroom! If I set it on low or medium I can just stare at it going round. If it's on high I just get dizzy. 😀
 
oh..fire...that reminds me....fireworks completely amaze me...ive been in the middle of a conversation and fireworks have gone off and im so mesmerized that i forget what im saying
 
Happy, smiley babies...they seem to be drawn to me (I think they must think I'm some sort of distorting mirror, as they usually have the same haircut, or lack of...😉) and I could watch 'em for ages...oh, and sleeping kids too...parents will know the attraction here 🙂

I've just noticed this new smiley of one of my favourite characters, so under the maxim of "use it or lose it" :dog2: :dog2: :dog2: :dog2: :dog2:

You know I was going to put babies.. because I DO love looking at them..but you are so RIGHT here. Sleeping babies. When my daughter falls asleep in my arms..I just can't take my eyes off of her. I just can't. It's soooo mesmerizing watching them like that.

nothing in particular really is mesmerizing. I am happy just spacing out at a wall wherever I am.
 
Well, I do sit in my front yard for hours staring at the passing vehicles. I live on a major road so its kinda fun. But I also get mesmerized by a really good book. I won't hear anyone or anything or even notice the time for hours if I've got something good to read.
 
I used to go to this place where there was a waterfall and I could just stay there looking at it for hours.

The cooking channels also mesmerize me. And the home shopping network.
 
this is going to sound completely deranged, but...i get mesmerized by window cleaners!!
there are guys in our area who's job it is to go around and wash the outside windows of our neigbourhood. they get paid for it, but they have all of these different sponges and squeegie (sp?) things...i get drawn in!!

somebody send me to the funny farm, quick!!

Just about anything (except Saw II), if I'm tired enough.

Otherwise, really good concerts.. But honestly, I am usually too stressed, I have to do a lot of things at the same time to not feel like I'm wasting time..
 
Fire, and music. I could stare at flames for hours. I don't stare at music, though. 😉 But I can listen to music and do nothing else for days on end, it seems. Not all music, mostly metal music.
 
I forgot to mention the night sky...I can look at the stars for ages...it can be very soothing, looking at the vastness and realising that what happens on this insignificant little blue dot isn't really that important after all...although this tends to work better in the summer - we've just had our first snow of the winter, and I know that Canadians and Scandinavians and so on might scoff at our British winters but trust me, nationwide panic lies just round the corner - hey, there was at least 1cm and it took half an hour to melt, you know 🙂😉
 
I'm with Anita, (yeah...get out my head, you!) a good book puts my right into a trance.....I forget there's even a world outside of my book and I. Also, the night sky....I love to gaze at the stars, the occassional plane flying over....and if there's a meteor shower....GREAT!
 
Moving water. I could watch waves for hours and hours. There's something very sothing about water and the way it moves.
 
The Internet mesmerizes me. I can sit in front of the computer for hours. And hours. And hours...

But I digress. Buffy mesmerizes me, especially Spike. He just kinda steals every scene.

Evanescence's music mesmerizes me.

Other than that...food being made, my boyfriend smiling. Things like that.
