Met anyone famous?

I know a few of you have discussed meeting Buffy/Angel/Firefly stars (is jealous) but has anyone met anyone else famous?

I met a few members from the band 'Yellowcard', the Australian band 'The living end' and also 'Miriam Margolyes' (Miriam Margolyes) you'd more likely know her as 'Professor Sprout' in the second Harry Potter movie.

I've never met anyone famous who's cool [Which may be insulting to the people I have met...😛] I've met Journey South, people who watch the X factor will know who they are, other people...well, never mind 😀 They live in my area, and my brother knows their Mum, so I met 'em one time...I've never met anyone else, though I plan to 😛

I met one famous in Soviet Union times actress in some Moscowian grocery store. She was there just like regular person. It was a bit humiliating moment - I didn't recognize her, for she was popular at Mom's youth times, not recently.
I met several local TV celebrities - during my university work-practice at our major CinemaStudio of Dovzhenko (video-editing, I just love it, Golden Times), and while participation in TV show as modern witch. 🙂
In South Korea I met the Mayor of Taejon - city where we lived while there, and Consul of Gabon - right on the beach (it helps sometimes to be a foreigner 🙂 ).

I've met Dick Johnson...who used to race cars back in the day, but since it wasn't a F1 car, don't ask me what the heck he drove. I think it was for Ford but I know if I'm wrong any Aussie motor enthusiasts are gonna be in here any second now, telling me that I'm wrong. 😉

(I know most of you probably either never heard of or don't remember either of these, but...) I met Don Ho in Hawaii when I was on my way to Southeast Asia in the Navy, and I met writers Charles "Skeeter" Skelton and Jerry Ahern at two separate gun shows. About the only still famous (and known to the readers here) one that I've met was William Shatner. (Does Ronald McDonald count?)

Anyone that grew up in the 80's in the UK should remember Timmy Mallet.... I met him, and he asked to borrow my concealer as he had forgotten his 'lol' He was filming a commercial for Drayton Manor Park.

And he is as annoying in real life as he was/is on TV!

I've met a few famous people over the years, Dick Johnson, Peter Brock, Grant Denyer, Cliff Richard, Mr Baldwin [John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin] several times. Then there's Mott the Hoople, Deep Purple, The Nolan Sisters.

I've met a few famous people. Most of whom I doubt anyone here has ever heard of. I've met Billy, Robert, and Dan Etbuar courtesy of their Aunt who I know who lives in my home town 1996. Billy, Robert, and Dan Etbuar are world champion rodeo cowboys. I met country music singer the late Chris LeDoux in 1998. Chris LeDoux died in 2005 for a battle with liver cancer. I met famous jockey (now retired) Jerry Bailey this past summer at the Arlington Million at Arlington Park.

Normally my Mom is the one who meets famous people, no idea why, and for some reason always on an airport. Like this one time here in Germany at an airport she me Daniel Brühl, a German actor. Non-Germans might know him from the movie 'Goodbye Lenin'.
And another time she met one of the Klischko brothers on the Moscow airport.

I only met somebody famous once, but at least it was somebody really great. It was in 2006, not too long after the soccer worldcup. I was staying in Bournemouth with my parents to improve my english. This one evening I was going to a pub with my roomate Marie, and guess who we ran into? David Beckham. We got so excited and I think it only took us like half an hour to tell the whole school about that. The next day I was sending out emails to all my friends n germany, lol.

LOL, i'm teasing.
I met Timmy Mallet once during my Bouncer dats.
He is very 'popular' on the student scene even now, doing visits to nightclubs.
Anyway, he went to one in Leeds called Evolution and yes, he is tres annoying, but gawd bless the students of Leeds that night. Someone STOLE 'Mallets Mallet' from his dressing room and he offered a £5k reward for it. Still hasn't been returned.

I have met other people too.
I met Charlie Cox just last week after watching him in a wonderful Harold Pinter Play in London, I also met Gina McKee who stars in it too.

I have a friend I've known from School who married Patrick Baladi who played Neil in the second series/christmas special of the UK Office.
Though i've met him a few times, he isn't the name i'm going to drop here.
I was invited to a party at his house last summer and I was talking to Jonathan Ross and Ricky Gervais. That was quite fun.

Thanks to the school friend I also went clubbing with Lily Allen and Kate Nash, though at the time I had no idea who Kate Nash was but I wasn't impressed with either of them.

I also met some other celebs during my days as being a true Z List celeb myself but trust me, there are NO funny stories with that one!!

Working in an airport(I'm part of the commissary department),you do get to see your share of famous people.

Just a couple that come to mind right off the bat:

*Lindy Ruff,head coach of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres,who was there with his family heading out on vacation around the time of the Torino Winter Olympics(the NHL had gone on break so players could play for their respective countries).

*Marv Levy,former head coach and GM of the NFL's Buffalo Bills

and,a bit more recently...

*William Fitchner,who currently stars on Fox's "Prison Break"(and,as it turns out,has ties to the area)

Before you ask....no,I didn't talk to them.

I have met like one famous person in my entire life lol and that was Kane Hoder the guy who played Jason in most of the Friday the 13th movies when i was like 6? lol LONG TIME AGO i mean i lost the autographed picture and everything it sucks... still have pics somewhere though i think maybe....

I walked past Elijah Wood but didn't stop to say anything. I've also seen a few reality stars while hanging out at the BBC. Was attempting to stalk Jon Bon Jovi while behind the scenes on Jonathan Ross show...sadly plan failed 🙁

I'd give up all of that if I had got to meet Ernie Hudson. Couldn't make that one, got a dedication wiht my fave Crow quote but to actually meet him would have been awesome.

EDB your not alone there was an air show years ago and he was the Children's entertainer there, I met him breifly while attending to our thirsty Boston Terrier who sadly had the begginings of a disease that she passed away from, because she needed water I had to go past the tent where the tap was, and My autistic brother was introduced to him via my Mum and I was the one who explained his condition to him while trying to get the dog to drink, he seemed nice but it is true he is just as mad and bonkers in real life as he is on tv!

Undoubtedly one of the more cooler moments of my life was meeting my favourite director and uber idol, one Mr. David Lynch, when he did a talk in Trinity College here in Dublin. Like the worst kind of gushing fanboy, I walked up to him and was like, "David, it's GREAT to meet you." 😀 We shook hands and he replied, "Nice to meet you!" and he was hurried on by his entourage. A very brief moment, but very awesome nonetheless.

I went to the Big Day Out yesterday, does that count! There are lots of local bands that I was loving especially if you have met them in a pub previously and then you see them on stage like rock gods! Its kinda strange!
I Went to high school with one of the contestents on the ozzie popstars.
I've met a few local personalities, no one internationally known though.
Im boring and sheltered!

Aaw you're not boring and sheltered! It's harder to meet famous people in Australia. I wanted to go to the BDO. 🙁 I was working. The famous people I have met aren't that famous really, well overly known anyway. 😉 They were great people. When I met the lead singer of 'The living end', I actually feel stupid for how I acted now. I was wearing a tie, so I ran up to him and I'm like "CAN YOU SIGN MY TIE?!" Really because I was excited and nervous, so he says "sure no worries..." I really wished I asked me politely, he deserved it.
