Michael Moore & Fahrenheit 9/11

Maybe you've already discussed this, but I didn't find a thread..
Last week I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 with my school, and I guess many of you have seen it too..
So what did you think of it?
And what do you think of Michael Moore?

I think it would have been fine if it was marketed as a mockumentary rather than a documentary. Splicing bits and pieces of speeches and talks in order to have the person say what you want them to say is OK as entertainment but becomes libelous when you present it as fact. There is a verse in the OT bible that says " God is dead, says the fool." If you only quote the first half of the sentence, "God is dead", then you are reportinf that the bible says God is dead rather than communicating that the sentence says that only a fool says God is dead. So, if you are looking for a good laugh at the current administration in the US then you will find it in 911, if you are looking for facts...look elsewhere.

I thought it was a lot more... sombre than his other stuff. Yes, it's thoroughly unbalanced, but we all knew that going in. As an essay it's a tremendously powerful work. I hated US News before, but that montage of reporters sucking up to the Army was astonishing. If nothing else, Moore is a talented filmaker. The few minutes after the opening credits are dreadful and beautiful, and stuck with me more than anything inthe rest of the film.

I also maintain that Moore's final speech about the troops and Orwell deserves to be heard by everyone.

Since everyone problably know Michael Moore's opinions I don't think anyone's looking for facts when they see this movie. Non the less, a lot of the things he says are true, although he's not objective.. As long as noone thinks this is the exact truth (which I don't think anyone does), I think this is interesting, and at least I didn't know all of it..
(And I love his sence of humor, the sarkasm and all that..)
