Why is Michelle Trachtenberg posing on the red carpet at the EW & Vavoom upfront party in New York City? We're guessing she hopes to use the photo in an upcoming Craigslist ad for a fashion stylist: "Help Wanted: Someone wise and knowledgeable to keep me from pairing a shiny go-go-dancer-meets-
entomologist dress with black tights. Call ASAP."

i actually like the dress, i think she gets away with it but the black tights do look bad. no tights at all would be better.
 
Lol, before I looked at the picture I was like 'Oh come on, nothing can really look that bad on Michelle', but then I saw it and now I can't stop laughing, it looks hilarious.
 
I think the dress is wonderful and it's a great style with the tights. In short it's a very stylish ensemble.

BUT

It unfortunately doesn't suit Michelle. The color's don't work very well with her coloring. It' too bold a purple- if she was going for bold colors she would look better in bold blues. And the shiny material doesn't really go with the muted smokey make-up she's wearing.
And the shot has made the shortness of the dress look tacky. If you'd taken it from a different angle, and with Michelle in a different stance it would look quite different. If she'd been wearing that on a photoshoot I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of you would have a different opinion of the outfit. It's just the way it goes, I'm afraid.

I do admit that I have seen Michelle in much more fabulous clothing.
 
I thought there must be something wrong with my computer screen 'cos that photo was terrible, but then I looked at the other 5 photos. The photo of Cate was ok but the rest, has the photographer ever heard of lighting? If they are all fashion police, it must be a joke.
