I guess it would help some if I could remember exactly what happened in each of thsoe episodes... I have trouble matching the titles to the stories...
 
I really enjoyed "Never Leave Me." It was a great Spike ep and Anya's interigation of Andrew was hilarious. I'm a big Anya, Andrew, and Spike fan, so any episode that they are in is usually good. This ep really showed James's acting abilities and I was really impressed. Great Ep!
 
"Selfless", hands down (I'm officially an obsessed Anya/Emma lover😛). But "Help" and "Conversations With Dead People" come in as close 2nds because of Cassie and Webbs.

He's the vampire from "Coversations With Dead People"; the one that Buffy was talking to about all her problems and stuff. Love him... (not Oz kind of love though. I'm not gonna hijack, I'm not gonna hijack, I'm not gonna hijack...)

Too good for television, best of Buffy, Excellent.

Is it possible to give Him a negative vote. Him is almost as bad as CWDP is good.

I like them all, but strangely, not one more than the others. They're all pretty good. I would watch any one of them again as a rerun in a second. I think I like the Turok Han a lot, so maybe I have a slight preference for the later ones. Maybe Showtime is my favorite. Hard to say.
 
My personal fav was "Lesson" because all the previous big bad came out and at that time, we will still in a dilema dunno whether is it The First.

i also like Selfless epecically the Anya singing part in OMWF.
CWDP was good too!!!all the ep are good...

My personal favourite was Showtime. Everything just clicked - from the writing to the characters. It really bought the previous few episodes to a climax without being overdramatic or leaving gaping plot holes in its wake.

Selfless runs a very close second, and ,dare I say it, I actually quite liked Him too - I just couldn't stop laughing.
 
Yeah, Him was supposed to be ight and filler-y because of the upcoming serious string of epps that were to follow. the writers always do this so that the entire season is not overly serious.

c'mon, how could you NOT laugh your ass off when you saw Buff outside the principal's window at night? 😛

That part had me in hysterics - and that fifties music captured the mood of the show perfectly.
 
I tried, but I can't stop myself. I have to tell you three why I hate the Buffy episode "Him".

I was surfing the television channels a couple minutes ago, and I blipped into a commercial that was offering a torso shot of a babe in a string bikini. My finger lept off the remote, and I devoted my attention to the image on the screen.

A girl was speaking off screen. She said "Tired of the bumps and irritation caused by shaving along the bikini line?"

Instantly I no longer wanted to watch. I was embarrased for everyone connected with the production of this commercial. It was like watching someone crap.

I felt the same way watching "Him" (only moreso).

The writing was just so bad. The situations were contrived, the characters were cardboard thin, the humour was forced, and even in the phantasmagorical universe of Buffy there was just too much stuff that didn't make any kind of sense.

Also have you ever noticed how bad TV writers enjoy making the main characters look foolish? I've always wondered why that is.

Was Him a filler episode? Of course it was, but the three episodes preceding it (Same Time Same Place, Selfless, and Help) were also fillerish and they excelled.

The best thing I can say about "Him" is if you edited out the "Buffy as slut" scene, it might be passable as a script for the upcoming Saturday morning cartoon version of Buffy.

I agree. The only thing that might have made it beter for me would have been Giles.
