Most of you guys probably don't remember these two gems from Season 7, Kit was in the first episode. She was one of Dawn's friends. Mike was in Episode 4 (Help) and became another one of Dawn's friends. It seemed like this season that they were trying to put some light onto Dawn at least at some points (The first half of the season) and it bothers me that these guys didn't appear in at least one more episode than they did. There were at least 3 episodes where both of them could've made appearances -.-

Good point.
I agree. When I saw the first episode of series 7, I honestly thought they'd get many more appearances. Especially because it was such a likeness to Xander, Will, and Buffy. I thought they'd end up saving the school from mini-apocalypses. I would have liked to have seen that.

Oh, yes! The boy in Episode 1 (I completely forgot about him)! He seemed to be a great character as well. Mike, Kit, GuyIforgetthenameof and Dawn. They all seemed like they'd get along as well. I think it's just something that Joss either forgot about, I mean, Season 7 was a cluster of characters as it is, but I think I would've much preferred a season based on Dawn's school life with those characters than the season we got.

Oh, Joss definitely started something with Dawn's school life then quickly forgot! He was maybe too preoccupied with Angel aswell, but I still can't forgive him for letting that decent storyline for Dawn go 😛

Especially after all of her story lines being whine...whine...whine...whine...whine...whine all the way through seasons 5 and 6, I thought her gaining a bit of maturity and becoming a character by herself without Buffy and Xander and Willow around to protect her would be awesome. I think also when they started the counselor thing for Buffy that they were even trying harder to focus on Dawn's school life, that Joss was just like "meh, it can fall by the wayside" when it would've been the only interesting thing about the final 10 or so episodes apart from Faith.

Also, what happened to then when SD went boom...?

Daaayum, perfectly good storyline gone to waste. Cheers, Joss.

It's exactly that. They weren't even mentioned after the first episode, come on, Joss could have at least tried to include them a little. A bit of name mentioning, here and there. But no, nothing. Zilch. Gah.

As for what happened to them... they probably left like the rest of the SD folk. They could have done a scene with Dawn saying goodbye to them. Or hell, Buffy had plenty of potentials in the house, she should've asked them to stay and fight! Why not, eh?!

Kit can bring her bag and smack them in the face a few times 😀

I really liked Mike as well. I would've loved for him and Dawn to have a relationshippy storyline which is where it seemed like they were going with it. Correct me if I'm wrong if you feel differently about Help.

I liked RJ as well and it would've been cool if it was the 4 previously mentioned and RJ in a group. They could've done really well and they would've been really funny. I don't know.

I have actually considered this before, but not really seriously... I thought that maybe they had all these adventures that somehow Buffy was unaware of. But now that sounds really dumb, because how could she NOT be aware of anything that happened at the school?

Still, that was my theory.

Two words: Jesse Syndrom. Characters appears and is given some importance and is thrown away like a used handkerchief to never been mentioned again!

Kit's bag. LMFAO.

Aww, Mike and Dawn. Fanfiction idea right there.

I hated RJ, but the whole group idea sounds really neat. Would've been some greatly humourous episodes using those kiddas.

I remember Kit. I liked her.

The only other friend I remember her mentioning on more than one occasion was Janice.

I can't count how many times Dawn said, "I'm sleeping over at Janice's." Christ.

"I'm going to Janice's." "Janice is having a party." "Janice" "Janice" SO MUCH JANICE...

Mike and Dawn could've been great. I wish they'd just...redo season 7, it's just a mess of characters, the only character they remembered from the high school was Cassie. I loved Cassie don't get me wrong and it would've been great so her live and make that click happen at the school (and yes, some greatly humorous moments, going back to the original feel of the series. Michelle Trachtenberg was really improving in Season 7 as well.) I just wish Joss paid attention to characters he introduced. Scott Hope got the same sort of treatment. :/

Also, Kit's bag was amazing, she was such a horrible fighter that the bag scene was just amazing.

Loved Cassie.

Season 7 was really a catastrophe with the characters, wasn't it? Storylines were great, but the characters were incredibly choppy. There, gone, there, gone. Terrible!

And they keep the potentials? One of the worst ideas to ever be on BTVS? I would've liked for Amanda to be a part of the click as well actually.

We're building something here, guys!

Dawn, Mike, Kit, RandomguyfromLessons, Amanda, Janice, Cassie (if she was still alive), RJ...That'd make some great episodes. It sort of feels like what season 3 could've been

Buffy, Willow, Xander, Oz, Cordelia, Giles, Angel, etc. Could've been great.

It all makes me think of Skins for the "A cool band at high school" which centers then on the band of the sibling of the hero!

Ahh! This is brilliant!

I think I get it. Joss maybe thought by starting this storyline of Dawn's school life he'd be recycling Buffy's time at high school. Either that, or he actually genuinely forgot..

Anyway, recycling or not, this would have been a great storyline. I could totally see Kit becoming a witch like Willow, and Mike being like Gunn from Angel, all muscle-y and stuff.

Once again, damn you Joss Whedon!

I don't really see Tony as a hero...Nor do I see Effy as cool...but that's a story for another thread.

I think it'd be interesting to see if Joss was good enough to keep the focus on his leads but to also add a continuing subplot with Dawn and her friends.

Very true. 🙁 This bothers me about these two characters, though... I did a rewatch last year and thought about them at the end of Season 7... "Oh yeah, what happened to those kids?" I hate that the writers do this kind of thing so often. Like Owen in Season 1... We see him in that 1 episode and never ever hear anyone speak of him again. 🙁

I know :( Scott was the closest thing we had to a normal guy on the series...Apart from Xander, but you know what I mean.
When I first saw this episode I thought for sure that they were going to be new major characters. Dawn as Buffy. Kit as a Willow/Tara character. South American guy as a Xander. Mike as a love interest. RJ as a Cordelia. Janice was great, but she didn't really seem like anything to interesting. Maybe she could have been like the Mona character in Pretty Little Liars.

I had a huge feeling that they were going to make it into a new spinoff once BtVS ended, and I gotta say, I'm still a little disappointed. It would have been much more interesting then the potential storyline, and wouldn't have left us with only the hideous comics as a reminder of what the series is supposed to be all about.

I think if there was a spinoff, it would've been fab, but think about it, wouldn't it have turned into a bit of a teen drama? None of them had super strength or anything so....

Also, love the PLL reference 😉
