:lightbulb Hi to everyone out there that doesn't know and to those who do. When I was up here awhile back I had started this too help others. Once again I feel the need to help. Besides, this would really help me with becoming a psychologist. So please if you have any problems, I will try my best to help you with all my knowledge. It's great to be back home' here at the boards!!!!
:grouphug: 😉 :clap2: :lmao:

So, you want us to give you our problems and help. Ok thats fine, but if you want that, perhaps alittle bit of information regarding yourself.
Why, you a 16 year old, feels you have the abililty to help. What issues you have faced and how you managed to succeed.
Now, i'm not saying this as a means to belittle your thread, i just know that some people would feel better knowing that IF they want your help, you could be in a place to help and understand.
I have one or two issues, and i would be happy to discuss them at length with you, IF you can satisfy my worries.

I would like to say that you're column might be a good idea if you know what you're talking about. As a Psych major I feel obligated to inform you that you may give advice to people all you want but you are in no way allowed to attempt to diagnose them. Because that would go against a code of ethics. And if you really want to help people, you might encourage them to pm you instead of using this thread. Some people may not want their personal life bandied about.

Plus, I think that Alister had some good points. You're only 16, what advice could you give to someone about divorce, or losing a job after having it for 20 yrs, or even someone contemplating suicide? If you plan on doing this without professional training or taking classes in it, what can you offer to make people confide in you?

I think the thread is a good idea in theory, but maybe you should try to think it out a little more.

The PM thing is quite a great idea though. As for me proving myself to others, well here we go:

(not going into details but i just name a list of events)

my parents divorce

brother almost killed by my stepdad

sister gets taken away and is in a group home

me almost getting taken away

family obviously doesnt like me too well

dealing with school, almost dropped out because of family jelousy(against me)

have no clue where my father is(seen him once, but that was a while ago so now when I see him he obviously doesnt recognize me even though we look one in the same)

mother losing memory

family deaths, friends

Me almost commiting suicide

But I do like the PM idea though, but if you need more then ask. And I didnt mean diagnose someone I simply meant helping them in any possible way. Thought it could help me as well since i want to be a psycologist, but if you guys dont want me to do this because the lack of experience then I guess I'll understand.

Ok I don't think CC* will be dealing with a huge amount of proper Psychiatrist problems, it was just like an advise column, in the way that if you just wanted to talk about something, it can be easier to just talk to someone.

It is usually easier for me to talk to someone i dont know. Less judgement that way. Plus its good to vent sometimes. not even looking for a reply, just somewhere to rant about stuff. I find it easier to do so on places like these than to talk to people I know.
