Millennials outraged over stereotypical TV show about 'easily offended' millennials

A millennial member of a focus group has angrily objected to the contents of a television programme because it portrayed millennials as coddled, easily offended and thin-skinned.

The feedback for CBS’ new comedy series The Great Indoors was recounted by its executive producer Mike Gibbons at a Television Critics Association panel this week and, in further vindication, outraged a millennial member of the press.

I watched the trailer, I would give it a go. This has a couple of funny jokes - I am hoping not just the highlights, but the laugh track is silly. Why do you need to be told when a joke is funny? Im pretty sure my own body noises will let me know if it is hilarious.

Besides that it looks like a bit of fun social commentary. I love Stephan Fry, I respect his opinion with his life experience, and the other dude has the right comedic timing.

I started reading the comments, but had to stop. Might go back when I am bored. I get so confused about whats ok to say and whats not, but care so much less now days.

Oh, and I think I still count as a millennial. mid 80's?

Do you know why many American comedy shows have canned laughter. If English or Aussie comedy shows didn't have canned laughter the Americans wouldn't know when to laugh. As the differences are that different.
I do remember an episode of Good News Week were a certain word was used, The guest of honour Sandra Bullock couldn't believe that word having been said on TV and asked if they were allowed to use that word, which resulted in a barrage of that word and other words which weren't allowed in America being used.

HAHA! I cant remember that episode but I do know we are quite lenient - netflix is quite lax, I was surprised! ABC/triple J seem to get away with far more than the average news media.
Surely that article was a reprint from the Onion. An article like that with such quotes is what I'd expect from a satire news site.

ETA: it's late and I should be in bed, so I'll delete my conspiracy theories about the many dirty tricks of media producers to get people to buzzing (which this might be, if it's not a parody article that got reprinted as actual news, which has also been known to happen), though I am convinced they're playing us (the public) in all sorts of ways.
