Mindblowing facts about Btvs/Ats

Ok, buffy experts, let's hear it! I just found out that Sylvester Stallone wrote all the Rocky films and can't get over it. I want to know that kind of things about btvs and ats too! Tell me! 😀

- david and christian are friends irl

-Katie Holmes was chosen to play Buffy but turned down the role because she was still in high school and so the role went to Sarah.
-Mercedes McNab, Charisma Carpenter, Julie Benz and Bianca Lawson all auditioned for the role of Buffy
-Nathan Fillion auditioned for the role of Angel
-Xander was supposed to be the one turning gay
-Sarah cried non-stop after filming when Angel turns evil and when the two break up in "The Prom" and David had to console her.
-David always hugged Sarah after the intense/aggressive scenes when he was playing Angelus

Who are David and Christian? Sooo cute that groo and Lorne were friends! :heart:

David Boreanaz and Christian Kane -- Angel and Lindsey. They were also friends of Glenn Quinn, and Christian was uncomfortable with the episode where he impersonated Doyle after Quinn had died.

On a related note, Kane auditioned to be Riley but Joss offerred him Lindsey instead.

Ryan Reynolds auditioned for Xander.

Nick win the role of Xander because of a joke he told about shawarma (now you know where that joke in The Avengers is from)

Sarah and Eliza never talked to each other about how to play each other in Who Are You - they simply watched film of each other extensively before filming.

Bad Horse from Dr. Horrible was originally an idea Ben Edlund had for a villain on Angel, but was considered too campy for the show.

The actor who played Ben in season five wasn't told for most of the season what his connection was to Glory.

Miracle Laurie, who played November in Dollhouse, auditioned four times for a role in Buffy, which she never got.

That's all I can think of right now.

EDIT: The original script of Five by Five called for the end fight to take place in the rain, but the idea was struck down because the show didn't have the budget for a rain machine. The week they filmed that episode, a freak rainstorm hit LA, allowing them to film the scene as originally written (I'm so glad they could - to me, that is the most powerful tear jerker in the entirety of both shows.)

Julie Benz has been in three seperate series with a character called Angel: Buffy, Angel and Dexter.

One of Sarah's favorite episodes is "Who Are You" because she thought Eliza was brilliant playing Buffy.

Sarah and David got really emotional filming "Graduation Day Part 2" because they were sad that David was leaving.

Sarah and Seth are really close in real life.

Sarah's real wedding dress was by the same person Vera Wang who did Buffy's wedding dress because Sarah love the design.

OH MY GOD, whaaat! This almost deserves a thread of it's own! The development of everything if this had happened could have sooo different! I honestly don't know who I "prefer" to die (that sounds horrible 🙂). I loved Woz, but I was sooo sad for Giles when Jenny died. On the other hand her death is one of the strongest scenes in that season, so heartbreaking with the rose and the smile!

Yes thats when Willow is working with the coven on recovery rain delayed some stuff but thanks to ASH filming was saved and they got some amazeing shots.

They did -- I want to say that it was on All My Children that they worked together. She was actually the one who got them to consider Michelle for the role of Dawn.

-In Cordelia's "death" scene at the end of You're Welcome, Charisma and David were actually crying during those scenes and had to have multiple takes because it was too emotion.
-Charisma found out through the press that she wouldn't be in season 5 of Angel.

I didn't know about a lot of these. I did know about the other cast members who tried out for the role of buffy. I'm pretty sure the actress who played Chanterelle/Lily/Anne did as well.

I can see xander being the one who turns gay. Certainly there were more potential lead ups for him than for willow, but willow and tara are prob my fav couple so I'm glad things went the way they did.

Xander as gay would've been cute. But I'm glad it was Willow. Even though LGBT people aren't that common in tv shows there are still a lot more gay men than gay woman, so I'm glad they broke some ground, especially in the 90's 🙂
