I get this email today:

You and your MINI go everywhere together, but sometimes exploring a new destination is better on two wheels. For when a full size MINI won’t do, we present the MINI Folding Bike - the MINI that fits in your MINI. In true MINI fashion, this bike combines comfort, style and innovative technology in a tight fun-to-drive package. Made of aluminum and stainless steel, this 8-speed Shimano Acera has 20” wheels and the MINI logo proudly displayed on its frame.

Kinda a cool concept. But I think it's a pass for me.

kinda fugly
I once had a collapsible bike and needed to ride slightly uphill every day for 6 months .. it was my worst biking experience. The wheels are so tiny and you need to pedal a lot faster.

One day at the destination my bike was being locked to a normal bike, because it was such mousy. I needed to wait hours for the owner of the bike lock to return. No - it was not the beginning of a romance - but the end for the relationship with that and also any foldable bike.

Its kinda cute. I have no need or want, but I'm a sucker for this type of advertising/marketing/product and would probably want one if I drove a mini.

That's exactly what it's for. And only what it's for. So you can fold up your MINI bike and store it in the boot. It's not to actually ride, per se.

This is something you could fit in the hold of a small boat or light aircraft. It solves the problem of "You've arrived. Now what?"

If you want to go powered, try the Di Blasi folding minibike:
