Who is your favorite minor character on both shows you wish would've become a major character or even a main cast addition.

On Buffy- Jonathan. I would've wanted him to join the Scoobies in S7 instead of the other guy. I think it would've been fitting for him to go from background in S2, to highschool guy in S3 (with a couple of big cameo appearances like in 'Earshot' The Prom').
Then he gets his own episode in S4 and becomes sort of a Big Bad in S6. Putting him in the credits in S7- would've shown development of his character arc and showed that, overall, Buffy and co had a positive effect on his life.

I still can't get over how Andrew simply got away with murdering him. Andrew wasn't mind-controlled, or forced or anything. He betrayed the only person who thought of him as a friend, has a bit of a cry about it and is then let off and gets to hang around. 😡

*ahem* On Angel I liked Gwen, would've liked to see more of her in S5 of Angel. Who doesn't like a sexy, untrustworthy thief with superpowers? 🙂

Spike? I dont think he really joined the Scoobies.
Gwen on Angel.
Yes.
I kinda like Percy.. I think the actor did a good job with the character, would have liked to seen that expanded on.
I always liked Merl and thought they could have had more of him.
Veruca they were SUPPOSED to have more of, but they changed their plans.
Of course I have mentioned Willy and David Nabbit before.
I would have LOVED to see more of David Greenwalt's Connor versus Joss Whedon's Connor.
I liked Nina too. I think a Nina, Angel, Gwen love triangle could have been smoking hot.

Do an entire thread on the different conners, my curiousity is peaked

It's just like the differences in the two shows.. but I will see what I can do. The actor himself even said that after season 3 they 'had nothing for [him] to do'
BTVS- Jonathan: for all the reasons people have already said.... and in an alternate reality, maybe Jenny; she has an interesting back story, if she had survived Angelus, it could've been interesting to see what they'd do with her after (but of course we wouldn't have "Passion" which was great).

ATS: Gwen, Faith, Lilah

One that I wish would have had a few more episode is obviously Faith. But I like how she gets to be on both show, so I don't think being a regular on either show would have worked. But she definitely should have had a few more episodes. Whenever she was on Buffy or on Angel, those were always the best episodes!

As far as regulars, I agree, switch Andrew with Jonathan in s7.

For Angel, I would have loved for Kate to be part of the main cast.

I always think of Faith as a 'major' character when she's on either show- but I agree that she should've had a few more episodes. :)
Not sure for BtVS... Clem perhaps? 🙂

On Angel I agree with most. Gwen.
I was really surprised that she wasn't used more. Felt like they set her up to becoming a recurring character but it never quite happened.

I was watching "The thin dead line" last night and I was thinking I would like to see Kate as a regular, that would've been an intriguing group dynamic.

Faith does such incredible things with her role that you don't even realize how little she is actually in the series - so more Faith.
I really like Cassie - but she did have to die.
Same for Jenny Calendar.....🙁
More Clem! 😀

I am of the opinion that more Faith = less good Faith. I think the reason why she was such an impactful and meaningful character is that her episodes all had purpose. You just randomly add her to more of the show and it dilutes her character. That's why Spike was so good initially. In my opinion, there were so many throw-away episodes that if you randomly started placing Faith into them, then her character becomes less important.

Buffy

Ethan Rayne. Always interesting but he only showed up in four episodes.
Mr. Trick. His six episodes were great and he could have brought a new dynamic with a technowar against the scoobies led by Willow.
Clem. He was in eight episodes. Should have been more.
Caleb. He was the main focus in his five episodes. He needed a longer buildup.
Quentin Travers. Yeah, I hate his guts too, but we should have seen more of the machinations of the Watchers' Council than his four appearances allowed.

Angel

Lilah Morgan. We could always do with more than her 37 episodes. The only real adult in either show.
Holland Manners. We only see eight episodes that give us a glimpse into his leadership of Wolfram & Hart.
Faith. She shows up in only six episodes, the same number as Buffy (and Faith is only in 20 episodes of Buffy - quite an impact for so few appearances).

First of all-Cassie,she really deserved more episodes.
Then Anne and Ethan ~
From Angel-Gwen and Lilah.

Jenny for me. I guess you could say she was in it enough to be considered part of a major storyline, but I would have liked to have seen her in it more. She was good for Giles.

Gwen on Angel. I thought she was an interesting character with an interesting condition and background and I kind of wanted her to hook up with a certain tall, dark and broody guy 😀
Yea I loved Gwen and was sad she never came back. I also wanted her and Angel to hook up, I think they had great chemistry. And she was pretty hot and sexy, too bad he was still getting over his feelings for Cordy.

For Angel, I would have loved for Kate to be part of the main cast.
I have a love/hate thing with Kate. I love the idea of her character and her relationship to Angel, but I don't always like her characters action. But I do wish she would have stayed on longer. Or maybe would've come back for a few eps in s5. I can totally see her being mad at Angel for running W&H.

Faith does such incredible things with her role that you don't even realize how little she is actually in the series - so more Faith.
This is true. I do think we should have gotten a few more eps of her in Buffy s7 and should have came back for Angel s5 for a few eps.

Quentin Travers. Yeah, I hate his guts too, but we should have seen more of the machinations of the Watchers' Council than his four appearances allowed.
I agree, we should have gotten to see more to the Watcher's Council outside of Giles and Wes.

I also agree with others about Jonathon replacing Andrew in s7.

I LOVE Holland Manners, one of the greatest villains in all of the buffy verse of in fiction overall. More Holland would have been great.

Yeah Jonathan is the only one out of the trio from S6 who I actually quite like.
