I found one of the Angel script books on Google books and it had the shooting script of IWRY in it. I just finished reading it and I swear to God one of the best Cordy scenes ever was cut from this ep. I thought I'd post it here for everyone to read. I highlighted the lines I thought were especially brilliant.

There were a couple of other lines that didn't make the final ep that I thought were interesting, too.

Xander was going to set up an internet company? Doing what?

And can we all just pause and bow our heads in a moment of silence for the Xander-and-Angel-living-together-scenes we never got. Clearly this what happens with Spike but still, imagine the snark we never got!

I included this one because I think it shines a clearer light on the choice that is made by Angel.

Mohra says here that Angel's demise is specifically responsible for the End of Days and therefore Buffy dying. It isn't just a vague threat that the final cut suggests.

You just know Cordys delivery of the I couldn't' shop there for weeks line would have been EPIC!

Thanks for posting this 🙂 I can imagine Cordy and Doyles conversation exactly. I wonder why they cut it? Just short of time I guess?

I know! The hair one really cracked me up because I could just so picture her looking forlornly into her coffee, really sorry that his hair never recovered from Hell. :lmao:

That's what I'm guessing. There were a few other lines cut from scenes that stayed in, though this was the only completely cut scene.

Thanks for the post.

I dislike the Cord/Doyle conversation. It sounds like it was written for new audiences that didn't watch Buffy. Both shows were always about rewarding viewers that paid attention.

That dialogue sounds more like it belongs on The Big Bang Theory.

Sheldon makes movie reference of popular Sci-Fi movie to equally geeky friend that has seen said movie a million times. Still chooses to explain which movie it's from and which character from said movie said it. Blah 😛

Wow, that was a cool read! I wish that Cordy/Doyle scene hadn't been cut.

But I really wish they'd included that final exposition from the Amara demon. Having that final aspect emphasized to Angel a bit more would have added to it, I think.

Awesome find! Too bad we didn't get to see those Cordy lines.

And Xander starting an Internet company? Mr. Chatty-rooms could have been Xander's VP/roomie!

It's when I read something like this or see some "unedited" scene on Youtube or elsewhere on the internet that I really regret that we can't get the equivalent of a Director's Cut or Extended Episode edition of not just "Buffy," "Angel," but also "Dollhouse," "Firefly," or even "Serenity." The old "Highlander" series is the only one that I can think of that actually had what they called the "European Cut" (generally 5 or more minutes that were edited from each episode in the U S to provide for extra commercial time. Gotta sell those corn flakes!) I would be willing to buy them all again just for the extra footage.

Probably, the scene mentioned here was never even shot, but there undoubtedly were others that actually were, scenes that would have enhanced our enjoyment of the shows, that WERE shot, but wound up stored away somewhere, along with tons of bloopers and extras that for whatever reason Joss refuses to include in the disc sets. And even worse that knowing that that footage exists is the fact that somewhere, somehow, SOMEONE actually has access to it, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing it on Youtube.

Since Joss was the EP on the show, it could be that what we got was the "Director's Cut" version for the most part and Joss doesn't want his vision messed with by putting the other stuff out there. *shrugs*

"His hair's never really been the same"- ROFL!!!

And yes I agree that I wish they had included that extended comment from the Moira demon. It might have dispelled some of this "Angel turned back time because he wanted to have superpowers again" nonsense.

VisionGirl agrees: Um, you should WRITE some!!

I've already written one angsty one sided love Xangel fic in which Xander starts lusting after Angel but Angel isn't interested as he's in love with Buffy.

And another uncompleted Xangel fic post-Chosen.

However, I should consider writing a funny one - after RL stops being a bitch.
