Somebody made mock images for a Buffy the Vampire Slayer adventure game, and they're incredible
Usually when people think of a "golden age" of point-and-click adventure games, they think of LucasArts at their peak. The Secret of Monkey Island. Day of the Tentacle. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. Just thinking about them makes me want to boot up ScummVM and play them all again. They were great.
You know what else was great? Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So what if we combined those two things?
An artist in the UK named Andrew Scaife has imagined just such a mashup, and it's fantastic. You could say he has too much time on his hands, but I say he doesn't have enough time. He should be working toward making this game a reality so I can play the darned thing. I don't care if every single "puzzle" is just, "Hey, remember this great scene from Buffy?" I'd love it.
For now, all we have are these images (more are on his Tumblr). Even in pixelated form, that yellow crayon makes me all misty eyed.
