Nifty idea, but I still think Buffy did better with her hand-to-hand and crossbow combo. That thing was just way too big for Buffy to be carting around on patrol. Especially when you consider how tiny SMG is and how big that guy was, and it still looked awkward and unmanageable.

It would be OK to get attention from a stationary position, but no good for prolonged action.

i think the accuracy would have improved if he'd got his flight feathers straight but i agree that it's too cumbersome. I can see Gunn putting a couple on his truck though!

I've always thought that it was either Watcher policy or Giles' personal taste more than anything else. More modern weapons were certainly available, if they had ever bothered to look for them.
