Beneath you at the end when spike is talking to buffy and hugs the cross, after there talk.
After life when spike is talking to buffy telling her about how he always saved her in his dreams.
The gift when Buffy sacrfises herself- also when spike breaks down
Intervention when spike talks to buffy thinking its the buffy bot
Hells Bells when Anya walks up the eile at the end
Selfless at the end when Anya chooses to sacrifice herself
Passion the reaction of the characters to Jennis death
Becoming part 2 when Buffy has to kill Angel at the end
Pangs when Oz cheats on Willow, her reaction at the end
Grave at the end with Willow and Xander when she breaks down
Seeing Red Tera's death
Dirty Girls at the end when Xander's eye is gauged

Wow theres quite alot, just wondering what everyone elses thoughts are, if any. I know i must seem really emotional my first topic being this, but just wanted to know what everyone else thought

Welcome!
Hi, welcome to BB.

Wow, you seem to have listed all the ones I can remember from the top of my head.

The only other one I can think of is 'Chosen' and thats because it's the 'end' of an era.

Yeah, that's quite a list, and being a sentimental guy they all brought tears! As I'm (of course) watching all episodes all over again I will try to remember to post here when other teary (is that a word or Buffyspeak?) moments appear. Great idea for a thread!

Well teary is the translation for "tårögd" isn´t it? Anyway, it´s defintely a word to me. But it isn´t in my online dictionary. :(
For me, the end of The Gift, Spike/Buffy in Chosen and Anya singing her song in Selfless are the three moments that still always make me cry. There are others but they depend on the mood i'm in as to what sort of reaction they get.

I cry during the whole exchange between Buffy and Dawn in Forever. Never have I felt more sorry for Buffy than during this episode. Her hope-filled ''Mommy?'' breaks my heart.

Tranquility mentioned Buffy/Spike in Chosen, and I guess the exact moment for me is the "I love you/No you don't" exchange. Heartbreaking.

Rhonda Wilcox mentions in "Why Buffy matters" that this exchange is important to show that Spike does not sacrifice himself because he thinks Buffy loves him, but out of a genuine wish to save the world.

I love the Becoming two-parter and the Buffy snd Angel scene always makes me cry, but the scene with Xander talking to an unconscious Willow is really heartbreaking.

Xander: Come on, Will. Look, you don't have a choice here. You gotta wake up. I need you, Will. I mean, how am I gonna pass trig, you know? And who am I gonna call every night... and talk about everything we did all day? You're my best friend. You've always... I love you

I mentioned mine about 100 times in various threads floating around the place but I'll add an new one here. The scene in Anne where Buffy is sitting on the edge of her bed in that dingy apartment, clutching a can of soup. It always gets me. It's just so desperately sad, she is just totally broken in that scene, the closest we get to see her in tht state again is when she goes catatonic. It's heart breaking.

Becoming part 2 when Buffy killed Angel gets me everytime 🙁
I´m gonna get a few enemies now. I really love that scene until she´s about to stab him. And it could have been one of the best scenes in the whole series. But then he stands there with the sword in him and I just feel like "that don´t look good". And I don´t mean in a "oh, that must hurt" kind of way. The close-ups are great but then you look on him from a distance I just thinks it looks, well wrong and stupid. And my sad mood disapears at once and I just get annoyed.

Please don´t kill me all at once. It´s just a personal opinion and I don´t say it´s a fact or anything. That´s just how I feel about it.

No thats so true, the effects in that scene are pretty awful, just looks fake.

Yeah, but since i knew he´d come back it did´t bother me that much. And yes then that episode aired in Sweden I already knew he was getting an own show. Tara on the other hand. She´s gone forever! *sobs*
I got a little bit sniffly in The Body, Chosen, when Tara died, when Xander was talking to Evil Willow...you know, the usual.

But the only time I truly, sincerely cried in Buffy was when Principal Flutti and the little piggy mascot got eaten. Then again, this is the girl who sobbed in Muppets in Space, so yeah.

Hah, this is getting emotional, as seems fitting!

In my readings I was just reminded of another rather subtle moment which brought some tears. That's when Buffy has slept with Angel and he has become Angelus, and Buffy really hates herself for what she has done, but the increasingly fatherly Giles says:

"If it's guilt you're looking for, I'm - I'm not your man. All I can offer you is my support and my respect."

Maybe it's because I'm the father of a teenage daughter, but that really struck a chord with me.

I agree. I think I really fell in love with Giles and their father/daughter relationship at that point. Buffy's expression when she hears his words always gets me.

I can probably pick a moment to cry in a zillion episodes, but here's a bunch (which have probably all been mentioned already):

-Buffy yelling at Giles & Angel in Prophecy Girl
-Buffy in Innocence
-The end of Becoming
-When Buffy receives the class protector award
-Wild at Heart
-The Body
-Buffy & Dawn at the end of Forever
-The Gift
-Buffy crying on Tara's knees about Spike
-The end of Seeing Red & Grave for obvious reasons
-Chosen

Woo, long list, which could be even longer, lol.

What a question!

There are way too many and it still manages to make me cry in all the right places. That's the power of the show really. Even though I've watched it so many times, the effect is always the same! Brilliant

I remember when Buff died at the end of S5 I was devastated. And bits where Willow is going over the edge in S6 always get me tearful!
