In Buffy Do you have a perticular moment or moments that just make you wana scream JOSS WHEDON YOU'RE A GENIUS

Some of mine are when faith in buffys dream says "Oh yeah. - Miles to go - Little Ms. Muffet counting down from 7-3-0." ...
and that is counting down to dawns arrival

another is when Buffy grasps Spikes hand in chosen and there hands burst into Flame symbolising ther love and just basicaly what spike says to Buffy in season six.

Oh no it's happening again JOSS WHEDON YOU ARE A GENIUS!!
 
I love Joss Whedon,
prob my favourite "omg how does he hink of this magic?!" was whe Spike at the end of season six went to get "what Buffy deserved" and he got his soul...just what she deserved.

The earliest thing that I can remember (you will have to remember that I didn't start watching the series until "Once More With Feeling,") was the concept of Buffy, whose function was killing vampires, being paired with someone (Spike) who should have been her worst enemy. It brought back memories of the partnership of the cowboy (John Reid, AKA, the Lone Ranger, and the Indian (Tonto, obviously). Two "odd couples" who defied all of the odds and accomplished great things.

Of course, you have to also realize that there were times, quite a few, in fact, when I also wanted to scream, "Joss, you sadistic, diabolical, cruel, dispicable..." Well, you get the idea, I'm sure,
 
Among so SO many, the Buffybot and the early foreshadowing to Dawn's arrival are just a couple that come to mind. 🙂
 
I liked the use of the Buffy Bot saying "Guyles"....Joss put it in because some "fans" were calling Giles, Guyles. I thought that was quite funny. Another not so serious one is probably in the episode Storyteller when Andrew is fighting against dark Willow, i always laugh at that bit...

A more serious one this time. I love how Buffy is full of all these metaphors and analogies etc . One of my favourite ones is in season 2, when buffy sleeps with Angel and he changes....he's not the same guy she fell in love with type idea.

Plus in season five the whole death is your gift and the revelation of dawn as the Key was very well done!

There are way to many to count! I'll give you a few of my favorites though.

*The Gift - Masterful! Amazing! He had thought this all out ages ago and it all came together so beautifully!

*Showtime - The way that the flashback happens where we all find out that Willow, Buffy & Xander planned "thunder dome" was just amazing.

*OMWF - Do I really have to say anything more? No! But I will... all of the foreshadowing in this episode is spectacular. Also I get chills every time Buffy sings "Heaven" and then with Willows face... OMG too much!

Again, there are simply too many to count. I often times find myself just marveling in the brilliance of Joss.

I love the little jokes he (and the other writers he managed to get on board) put in everywhere, the foreshadowing, the metaphores.. I can't really think of any particular example, because I guess there are too many. Did he come up with the BuffyBot?
 
All the time. Once More, With Feeling being the most obvious. But there's a lot of times I think that, the ways they can pull things off.
I actually always found it genius how they managed to add little spoilers in without actually spoiling anything. If that made any sense to anyone.
Like in Graduation Day Part 1 with seeing Joyce dead for like a fraction of a second, and in Restless with Tara's 'Be Back before Dawn' such big spoilers which they managed to pull off.
There's a lot more of genius in Joss, too.
 
Hush. It manages to progress the story arc of the season, and the relationships between the characters. It also happens to be one of the funniest episodes ever. All, with no dialogue. That's pretty impressive. And it's got some cool looking demons.
 
I know he didn't write Fool For love but I'm pretty sure Joss was instrumental with the ideas - but when it is revealled that back in the day Spike was William, a mummy's boy poet, that was freaking brilliant.
 
That he turned around that shambles of what they made the movie into.... into the tv show. which is why wer all here.

Yes! Def his #1 Genuis moment!
The most obvious thing to say is Hush. After all, he managed to make an episode that makes you laugh until you cry, gets you so scared you jump out of your seat in the same scene, and progresses the plot by leaps and bounds without any dialogue whatsoever. Another biggie is the scene at the end of Beneath You with Spike and Buffy in the church. Still, there a ton of much more subtle, yet equally (if not more) powerful moments and episodes that are usually overlooked, and the more I rewatch it, the more of them I notice. For example, I was watching Graduation Day, pt. 2 today, and the whole time, I was just thinking, "This is brilliant!" Which is weird, because I've never really thought of it as one of my favorite episodes.

Also, for some reason, I just LOVE the way Joss writes dream sequences. For one thing, they actually seem like dreams. But more importantly, even though they can occasionally seem senseless on the surface (and don't most dreams in real life?), they always have a huge inner meaning and when you realize it, you just think, "Wow."

As far as other Whedonverse shows go, Firefly is pretty much a genius moment in and of itself...even really small things, like the characters swearing in Chinese because the American and Chinese governments merge, leave me thinking, "How does he THINK of this?!" And Dollhouse has already had quite a few of them, too (the whole Handler-Active relationship, the slow progression of Echo's self-awareness, Echo's headshake to Sierra at the end of the most recent episode, etc.).

Oh, i forgot to mention restless. That whole episode is just.. His dream sequences in general are amazing, but how he managed to make such an important episode, with only dreams.. And, HELLO! The CHEESE MAN! :nibble6:
 
Fool for love just had me opening mouthed the whole episode was amazing.
I like the count down to dawn as well.
 
Easy ones would be "Hush", "Once More, With Feeling", "The Body", with the writing and directing being sheer brilliance. I thought the way Firefly was shot was so incredible with the lens flares that were allowed in frame, and the zooms. His one shots are amazing, such as in Serenity comes to mind.

I love the jokes that just kept going such as the alternate worlds with nothing but shrimp and a world without shrimp. Oh and the Cheese Man. " I wear the cheese. It does not wear me."

Can't forget "Waiting in the Wings", with the ballet too many moments in that one to count.

The moments where they'd have a serious moment and then dumb it down with humor.
