Ok, to make everyone a bit more patient before I post my pictures, here's my (very long) resume of the week-end:
Saturday Tom and I got there around 10.45 AM and the line was HUGE! We waited for a good 30-45min before we got inside even though we already had our tickets. Once we got in it was pretty much time for his photo-op with James and I had to go wait in line for the Smallville panel (which started late, of course XD ). It was really cool, Aaron and Laura were sweet and answered lots of questions. It was funny 'cause Laura didn't know most of the names of the episodes and everytime she talked about an episode a guy in the audience would just say the name after she barely mentionned 2 or 3 details of it. Oh and Sam Witwer (who played Doomsday in Smallville) and Sam Huntingdon from Being Human appeared out of nowhere to ask questions, it was very funny.
So after the panel Tom and I met again and we went to see a special screening of Metal Hurlant Chronicles. We met a girl who loved Buffy too, but she was a pain... I saw some people dressed as the Serenity crew (Wash was missing though) and Aaron Ashmore walked out of the panel room just as we were waiting in line and passed right behind me. Like he almost touch me! I couldn't move for a second, screaming "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII" in my head XD
So we watched Shelter Me (the MHC episode in which James Marsters appears) and a few minutes before it started, James came into the room to talk to us about it. He was beautiful and very cool and just... James! The episode (which had only 30min) in itself was well written, the story was a good basic idea, the acting was great... but I found it boring. It was one of those Author TV thingy that should win a price for the visual effects and writting and all, but just didn't appeal to me... James was good in it though. He was the only good thing for me in it.
After that we went to the exhibition room and just walked around watching. Tom had bought an autograph for his picture so we went to see James to his autograph booth. I saw no one was waiting in line at Aaron's booth and he seemed kind of lonely, so I decided I should go ask him for a hug. I had wanted one ever since he brushed past me while I was waiting for MHC so I just went for it. And he said yes!!!!! It was just perfect. I love hugs and I got a few over the years and his hug was one of the 3 best ones!! I was even shaking a little afterward!
So then Tom got his autograph and got James to say wave at me and the other girl we were with (yay!).
We walked around again, I bought 3 buttons (Superman logo, Xavier School logo and ReBoot logo) and the 6th issue of Buffy S8 (Retreat).
Tom and the other girl (I really can't remember her name... I just remember she was talking a LOT more than me - which is practically impossible lmao - and she was really annoying) wanted to see Kevin Sorbo's panel so they left and I kept wandering around.
I ended up back at the autograph booths section. There were like 5 people in line to get autographs from Sam Witwer so I got in line. I didn't want an autograph because they don't really mean anything to me, but I asked the volunteer who was checking the line if I could get a hug even if hadn't paid for anything. She was very accomodating and told me I could certainly get one. Sam was just adorable and when I asked he said "Sure!" and just held me into this bear-like hug. I felt like I never wanted to let go. When I thanked him and was about to leave, he told me "I like your shirt!" (I was wearing a purple Transformers shirt) which just made the moment more perfect! He's now in my top 3 huggers with Aaron (and Kellan Lutz).
My last activity on Saturday was the Masquerade. I waited for Tom and the other girl, but Kevin Sorbo's panel was late and I ended up going alone to the Masquerade, which wasn't so bad. It wasn't great because it seemed like apart from the hosts (the Joker and a girl) and the ninjas who kept coming out of nowhere, no one knew what they were doing. I left during the novice category costumes presentation, because it was 5.30PM and I was hungry and I wanted to get home.
Sunday morning, after deliberating, I decided to dress like Dawn in the S6 DVD photoshoot (straight hair and purple long sleeves shirt). Tom and I met at 10.30 to get to James' panel, which started at 11 (well more like 11.20, but he's almost a rockstar so it doesn't bother me ). James was just as cool as the day before. He even dared(sp?) us to ask him anything because he had never been embarassed before during a panel! Nobody got to embarass him, though.
During the panel I kept thinking it would be so cool to get a picture with him while dressed as Dawn. So despite the $65 I didn't have in my account, I figured I should buy one. At the end of the panel we rushed to the Photo-Ops section and I asked if I could buy one. Unfortunately you could only pay in cash and I only had my credit card. Tom came to my rescue with that one. He paid with what he had on him at the moment and I promised to pay him back as soon as I got home.
So I took my picture with James. He didn't recognize my "costume" but I'm still glad I get to tell people I was dressed as Dawn. What I really found funny though is that he's really quiet when he's not on stage. I could barely understand when he asked me how I was doing because he was talking so low. It was a change from his character.
When I got out of the booth, I was so happy I swear my smile must have been going from ear to ear. Tom told me I didn't have to pay him back since he hadn't found anything he wanted to buy, so the picture would be a gift. I think I thanked him like 7 times throughout the day for that.
We went to get lunch and talked for like an hour because there was nothing much to do that day.
Also I bought Buffy S8 #7 (Twilight).
Since we weren't busy and had visited pretty much every vendors/exhibitors booth, we went to the Warehouse 13 panel.
I've never watched the show and I don't think Tom really wanted to go but we had nothing else to do and Aaron was in this panel too so we just went. All the talk about the artifacts and the warehouse made no sense to me, but they also talked about Aaron and his twin and how it worked on the set so I still got to enjoy some parts of it. I even asked a question! And they kinda made fun of me XD My question was mostly for Aaron: "Since you've done a lot of science-fiction and supernatural stuff, what would you be your best advice for someone starting in the biz?" The other kinda made fun of the fact that I talked mostly for sci-si and supernatural stuff, but in the end they just told me not to choose the work. And surprisingly I wasn't hurt by the fact that they made fun of me (which is weird 'cause usually I would have been) but their answer gave me a boost to get on my feet and start searching for a way to get a guest starring role in something - anything really... And the guys were making fun of everything and everyone so I knew it wasn't directed toward me.
After the panel I went to get my picture with Aaron. I met Vanessa who's just a sweetheart, has Supernatural nights with her friends and also think Joss Whedon is a god/genius! We kept talking about her experience at the Toronto Supernatural Con, how she tried to get one of the SPN guys to the ComicCon (unfortunately that failed), etc. It was cool.
My picture with Aaron was perfect - or almost. I asked him for a hug picture and he was thrilled, but when I went to hug him I kinda moved to fast and he got some of my hair in his mouth XD So we settled the hair problem and took the picture. I felt so bad afterward though, but like in a funny way My hair must have tasted awful because I'd put hairspray in them to keep them straight.
So anyways the picture in itself is beautiful and we match! because he had a black and purple squared buttoned shirt.
After that Vanessa and I exchanged FB addresses so that we could stay in touch and she invited me to a SPN night whenever I want
While we were going around one last time, I spotted the Ztele booth and went to get my picture taken (for free!) with Nikita. Well actually it was me in front of a green screen and you could either have the zombie hands wall, the Grimm promo picture, Chuck on a balcony or Nikita looking fabulous. I chose Nikita and took the same pose she had and it was hilarious because I am so NOT looking as slim and sexy as her! And I was looking at the guy instead of looking at the camera so it's kinda weird too XD
After that Tom and I parted and I went back home.
Hope I didn't bore too much 😛
