More convincing playing each other's roles: Sarah Michelle Gellar or Eliza Dushku?

think that both ladies did excellent jobs, considering the fact that they were playing established characters who they, themselves, hadn't created (that made more sense thinking it than reading i, but I hope that you understand) Sarah as Faith had a somewhat easier job simply because her portrayal was of a character who wasn't as well known or as well well established, so we didn't know her as well as we knew Buffy. She had more leeway, because there was still some mystery about exactly how Faith would react in a particular situation, and anything that wasn't exactly the way that Eliza had portrayed Faith could just be chalked up as Faith trying to destroy Buffy's reputation
Eliza as Buffy had what I would consider to be the harder job because she had to portray the single most well known character on the show. Her slightest variation from what we all knew the "real" Buffy would have done would be glaringly obvious. Hers was by far the hardest job of the two, and I think that she did it perfectly.

They both played each other very well.
I really felt Sarah channeled Faith and she did an amazing job.
Eliza did a great job doing the same with Buffy.

SMG as Faith was outstanding. She did everything as Faith would have done it, right done to how she stakes Vamps!
I agree with WA, Buffy might seem better as Faith, but I also think she had the way easier job of the two. First off, it's already a bit easier to play the pist off, sexy, evil vampire slayer than it is to play Buffy who is much more multi-layered and was established for much longer. I still think Sarah did a really good job though. As for Eliza, I think she did pretty spectacular for what she had to work with. It wasn't exactly Buffy, but it was close enough for me. I also think that the script had something to do with SMG's role standing out, because she had much more material to work with that was VERY Faith like. ED as Buffy didn't have as much material that was very Buffy like, so I think she did the best she could with what she had.
I definitely think Eliza did the better job in this episode.
She had everything down perfectly when it came to Buffy's mannerisms, her timing, her speech patterns. Everything was just perfect.
SMG was good, but she didn't hold a candle to Eliza in this episode.
It was her acting in this episode that made me so excited to see Eliza in Dollhouse. The way she was able to completely change herself to mimic Buffy here was exactly what I imagined Dollhouse to be when we were getting ready for it to air. Instead, Eliza was the weakest of the 'Dolls' when she was 'Activated', her strength lay in her playing Echo!Caroline, when she started to revert, where as Enver and Dichen were better as 'Dolls'.

I've got to go with SMG nailed it.
I like Eliza, but in every role I've seen her in she plays the same sexy, edgy, sarcastic character. I never got the idea that I was watching anybody but Eliza as Eliza when she was Buffy.
SMG nailed all of Eliza's very distinctive mannerisms & speech patterns, even that way she moves her mouth when talking sexy.
