Now that Hero's not here, we're all heading over to his house for a pool party. NJ is hot right now, so we got our sunblock (45 spf for me thanks) and our towels. He's got a CD player plugged in, so, we get our disks and load them in (it's a 100 disk stack player, so they all fit).
So, what did you burn onto your disk for lounging around the pool in the sun?
Some of my picks:
1) "Sunny Days" by Lighthouse. The inspiration for the thread. "Sittin' stoned alone in my backyard/askin' myself why should I work so hard/you know there's nothing better for your soul/than lyin' in the sun listenin' to rock and roll".
2) "In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry. "In the summertime/when the weather is hot..."
3) "Twistin' by the Pool" by Dire Straits. "Mmmm, you're gonna look so cute/sunglasses, bathing suit".
4) "Hands Up" by Amazulu. Reminds me of the Jamaica promos from a couple of years ago...bikinis, sand...
5) "Summer Lovin'" from "Grease". Corny, but good for a karaoke minute...
6) "Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles. "Mississippi, in the middle of a dry spell..." A sultry song recorded on a hot summer night in Memphis.
7) "Patio Lanterns" by Kim Mitchell. "Our house had the biggest patio/our house had all the summer shade/we had patio lanterns..." A classic summer song from a Canadian icon.
8) "The River" by Bruce Springsteen (you know he had to be here...). "But I remember us ridin' in my brother's car/her body tanned and wet down at the reservoir". A sad song, but it reminds me of summer.
9) "Hotel California" by the Eagles. "On a dark desert highway/cool wind in my hair". Hot day, in the car...
