Most cringey scenes ever in BTVS?

Even the hardcore Bangel shipper in me can't swallow this line! Waaaaay to cheesy and melodramatic and what does it even mean??? 😛

Shame upon the writers for that line! In that case she should’ve sued for damages 😂

I agree. Its kinda like they were showing that Buffy is not that into Spike.

I also find Spike's attempts to impress Buffy in Crush to be really cringe. And his speech at the end of Lovers Walk.

I agree with you with his attempts to impress Buffy - so cringe. Don't agree on his LW speech, I like it!
1. Buffybot-related scenes.
2. The way Xander behaves around women.
3. "Seeing Red" from the bathroom scene.
4. Spike making Buffy and Drusilla both be tied up to give his incel speech about how women torture him like a weak-minded narcissist would instead of holding himself accountable. Even Drusilla out of all characters thought Spike wasn't getting a grip here. Harmony relieves me of the pain of hearing Spike spewing drama queen drivel when she calls him out.
5. Cordelia's insufferable moments when she was competing for power in high school.
6. Willow arrogantly talking big game after resurrecting Buffy. But Giles saves the moment by calling her out.
7. Tara being taken advantage of by Willow before they break up.
8. Most villain scenes. Exceptions are Spike in previous seasons, Angelus, Drusilla, the Mayor that exploited Faith, The Gentlemen, and Trick.
9. Wesley being a blind teacher's pet for the Watcher's Council. Giles saying "you have the emotional maturity of a blueberry scone" to Wesley is chef's kiss.
10. Spuffy being a thing.

Buffy’s scenes with Angel. It reminds me of rereading love letters my husband and I exchanged when we were in high school now that we are adults and let me tell you it’s cringy. I love it though because I think it’s intentional in the way that teenagers are.
 
I think something being "cringe" is very subjective. The definition of cringe is a feeling of secondhand embarrassment or discomfort you get when witnessing someone act in a way that is socially awkward, overly earnest, or in a way where you can tell the person is trying too hard.

I don't think I cringed at most of the things mentioned in this thread, aside from something like Xander saying "NO ONE CAN DEFEAT THE PENIS!" 🤣 or Angel telling Buffy that he "saw her heart" 😂 . You know, the type of one liner where it's difficult to take the person seriously. Andrew had a lot of those, but he was awkward in general, so I guess it didn't stand out as much. Another one that springs to mind is Luke in early S1. He had a lot of cringey lines!

Some people in the thread seem to just be mentioning scenes of characters they don't like. 😉

Actually, to expand on that, Season 4 sex as a whole. S1-3 are oddly chaste, aside from "Too Sexy Antonio" moments with Angel or Faith every so often. But Season 4, there's a lot more of it, and it seems really exploitive. I believe James also let it out once that Marc was not told he would take his shirt off on camera. I'm not really certain what an intimacy co-ordinator does, but they probably needed one for that season.
