Most Disturbing Scene/Image in BtVS

Voted for Xander loosing his eye (it makes me cringe, physically).

I also agree with the original poster about The Dehumanization and Murder of Katrina in "Dead Things". Another creepy and disturbing scene is Angel watching a teenage Buffy sucking a lollipop

I'm surprised noone has mentioned Willow and Tara. In season 6, Willow (magically or not) violated Tara. The same thing that Glory did to her, Willow has done. I thought that was really disturbing. I would never imagine Will doing something like that, to be so careless about another person's psyche.
It actually put a dent in the way I saw Willow for a while after that.

Out of the choices above, I'd go with Joyce's body on the couch. However, the most disturbing and completely shocking scene in the entire series to me was Anya being nearly CUT IN HALF in Chosen! It was just so brutal and I loved Anya! It actually made me feel physically sick. :|

The most disturbing, creepy, and unnatural thing on Buffy is Sid the Dummy from "The Puppet Show". 😀

All of these scenes were Really disturbing!
But I voted for Joyce in The Body. The exact moment after Buffy imagines that she saved her mother: We can see them in the hospital, smiling and one second after... The face of Joyce, dead.... BRRRRRRR

I keep forgetting to put this every time I'm here.... I think one of the, if not THE creepiest thing is in smile time and how the puppets control Franken (I think that's his name... you know, David Fury's character)

And his feeble, "please! let me die."

Oooh, good choices in the poll. It made it really hard to choose! I eventually went with Xander losing his eye, though... Joyce's body was definitely my second choice, though! I think that with all the build-up with Joyce being sick in Season 5 it was kinda obvious something was gonna happen to her. I didn't quite expect it to happen the way it did, but I was expecting it. Same with the other options on the poll... However, Xander losing his eye was really shocking and unexpected, and painful to watch. Yikes!

^^^^ What she said... That's one the creepiest scene on BtVS, without a doubt! One of the friends I got into the show got sooo turned off by it, she wanted to stop watching. 😱

I didn't find Joyce's body on the couch *disturbing*. Sad more than anything. Same for Giles finding Jenny. 🙁 Xander's losing eye? Mostly had me go WTF! And the attempted rape scene always seemed very out of character. I usually feel awkward toward the whole thing.

I agree completely. The Gnarl scene was the ONLY Buffy scene that made me look away from the screen. I was maybe 8 when I first started watching Buffy and I was an emotionless freak as a child. If I'd seen The Body for the first time now, maybe I'd consider it disturbing. I can only think of it as sad now. I mean, it's horrifying, to imagine myself in that situation, but...it doesn't make me cringe or anything. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry though 🙁

the AR is really disturbing but Buffy beating Spike to a bloody pulp shocks me even more.
