who was the most evil in your opinion? Obviously spike and dru are out because they were rather good before they were vamped. Even Lilah can't be considered among the most evil of humans because she showed some (albeit very little) of a softer side with Wesley... Even though she seemed very evil, it did seem like she had feelings for Wesley.

Liam wasn't evil but he certainly wasn't a very good person. And Angelus is obviously the most evil big bad because he really has no motive except to be as evil as possible.

I voted for Caleb because he was a psychopathic serial killer who prayed on young women and sold his soul to The First

I voted for Angelus. I just want to add that I consider Principal Snyder, Maggie Walsh, and even Adam as more victims of circumstance created by evil that instinctively continued (undead or not) abandoned by evil to continue without being evil themselves. Just a minor nitpick, don't mind me.

Yeah Angelus, Warren & Caleb probably take the cake but think about how much evil Anyanka/Aud & Halfrek/Cecily did without any remorse... Even Veruca turned out to be pretty evil to go as far as purposely trying to break up Oz & Willow and even attempted murder of Willow. Harmony was always evil too even if she sucked at it and was stupid, it truly seemed like deep down she was a superficial vapid bitch. Catherine Madison was also purely selfish evil with no remorse or conscience it seemed.

Darla was a prostitute before become an evil murderous vampire.... And Maggie Walsh was a sociopathic/megalomaniac!!!

Snyder is evil but almost a joke compared to how evil Someone like the Mayor who turned himself into a monstrous snake demon- not the smartest choice if you ask me but very evil.

Anyanka and Halfrek seem less evil to me because they were simply doing their job. They didn't seem to get a massive amount of satisfaction from it, although I am sure they did in a low key way. They just seemed very mundane in their evil. Caleb and Warren are seen getting some sort of sexual gratification out of their crimes, which makes it so much worse. Humans doing evil is just worse, because it feels like they have a choice, whereas demons do not.

The vampires are evil, but without a soul it's very difficult to choose not to be evil, it takes some sort of catalyst, like a chip, to show them that there is a different way of being.

I voted Caleb because he was evil from his first appearance, Warren didn't turn "evil" until Dead Things.

Warren. Everyone else was under the influence of the Old Ones, whose agents work for the ruination of the human race. Warren, while the Hellmouth was still singing dreams to him, was clearly a piece of work in Season Five, and was prepared to both rape and murder his ex with little provocation, among other people.

I went with Angelus. He actually knew what evil was and became an artist with it, and he truly wanted to destroy and harm as opposed to dominate. (Warren was a wannabe.)

Caleb came very close because he, like Angelus, wanted to end the world in misery (something none of the others did, though Glory didn't care if that's what happened), but Angelus exulted in the suffering so much more. I doubt Caleb could get anyone to immolate themselves while delivering a message (my mind marvels at how Angelus accomplished that), though I'm sure Caleb would if he could figure out how. And when Caleb smirks or smiles, he comes off as bit of a kid to me (what many would call a punk in the pathetic loser criminal sense--in that sense, a lot like Warren actually), but when Angelus smiles (at least in Buffy) I shudder. Even when Angelus is getting the crap beaten out of him he seems to enjoy it, because he's exulting in the pain he inflicted to get such a reaction.

Angelus: "I wanna torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured somebody, they didn't even have chainsaws."

Yep. Definitely him. 😀

Angelus definitely, but I think dismissing Spike and Dru's evil doings as vampires just because they were "good" as humans is a bit ridiculous. Both vampires showed that they were remorseless killers once turned. Being "good" as a human doesn't negate the evil they did when vampires. Spike was so renowned for his brutality that it earned him the nickname William The Bloody and Drusilla was no slouch in the evil department either, showing an affinity for torture and sadism, not to mention the two of them tried to end humanity with The Judge.

Very much agreed. Also I don't think I've mentioned how much I love your avatar!

This! Darla, Snyder and Veruca are on this list but Spike and Dru aren’t?? This is a strange list lol.

Maybe I don’t understand the question because Liam wasn’t evil. He was just not all that great a guy.

Angelus’ personal brand of evil is probably the most disturbing.

Again, this seems like an odd reason to leave her off the list. Yes, Lilah had feelings for Wesley. She also tortured Cordelia, drilled a hole in Lorn's brain, set Billy loose, cut off Linwood's head, was complicit in many of W&H diabolical schemes, manipulated and attempted to brainwash a victim of sexual abuse, attempted to kidnap an infant Connor and ... well, I mean she worked for W&H and had no qualms about all the evil the firm did.

Just because a character can feel/loves/was previously good that doesn't lessen their evil overall. Lilah Morgan was a fierce, unrepentant evil bitch and her feelings for Wesley didn't negate or change that.

I don’t get why Liam is on this list either. Being a drinker with a taste for the ladies does not equate to Evil.
Agreed, although I am inclined to believe that Liam had some dark impulses, which is where Angelus was born from. But we see no evidence of Liam being "evil". Angelus, yes, but Liam? Not so much.

Oh yeah I agree. He definitely had a dark side, but then again most of us do :)
Darla was a prostitute before become an evil murderous vampire...

This is a little offensive actually. Prostitutes aren’t evil . Especially for a woman of that time period at least Darla was independent and a businesswoman.

It sounds like your saying Drusilla
And Spike are superior because one was religious and another was a poet, but Darla was just a whore .
