Most Favorite Season for Buffy

Which season features your favorite Buffy Summers?

Season 2. The interactions with Angel/Angelus, the emotions, the pain.

5, the final season with the real Buffy Summers😛 She takes on a God and wins, what's not to love about that?

2 and 3 are close as well, her interactions with Angel/us and Faith really brought out the best in her character.

Season 5 to me. We see an all grow up Buffy, mature and game on! Very balanced. Also, Sarah never disappoints with acting. Season 2 and 3 close behind.

Season 3 for me, everyone grows up and becomes more mature. Relationships change, are tested and get stronger as a result. Every character (and there are a lot of them in this Season) gets something to do, which is a testiment to the writing quality.

There are so many good episodes, and maybe like 2 bad ones (the first two in my opinion), we find out about the Mayor and how Sunnydale came to be, the mythology of the show starts to get built here (The Watcher's Council, Angel getting his own show, Faith the dark slayer, the intro of Wesley), this has the beginning of so many great things. 🙂

I really like other series (5,7 and 2 particularly) but this has a consistantly good balance between stand-out lone episodes and a great season long arc- all the other seasons tend to have one or the other.

I love season 1 Buffy. Why? Buff's priorities are where I think they should be. Basically, protect and try to have some life too. It's a simple balance and yet she only seems to find it in seasons 1 and 4. Weird. Also, there is something, I don't know, humble about how she approaches her friendship with Willow and Xander in relation to being the slayer. She understands just how much these two risk by helping her and really appreciates their companionship. She knows the score, she does what she has to do and she doesn't let her emotions or feelings cloud her judgement like in the following seasons.

You know what, Buffy in season 1 is an adult. That's why I like her.

Season 3 is a big win for Buffy and who wouldn't want to see a school sendoff with huge bags full of explosive? Between Season 2 and Season 3, Season 3 has fewer monster of the week episodes and is a more coherent story arc. My second choice would be Season 6.

I could have gone for just about any of the series, so in the end I went for season 4 mainly to be a bit different.

Some of her acting performances in this season I really loved, like in Something Blue, Beer Bad, Hush, The I in Team. Also, she learns a lot of life lessons in this season for herself, rather than relying on Giles, boyfriends and the scoobies so much.

I would have to agree with everything except I like the first episode "Anne" The other one I don't like is Gingerbread. But season 3 is has the most consistently good episodes. I love Buffy in this season because she is dealing with everything that happened in season 2 while trying to figure out what shes going to do after high school. Plus her interactions with all the old and new characters is great. I love when Buffy does humor and this season is great for that. One of my favorite Buffy lines is "Hmm academic probation's not so funny today, huh Giles?" That always cracks me up. SMG delivers the comedic lines perfectly. Season 5 as I recall doesn't have as many of the comedic lines.

SMG's acting is unquestionably best in Season 5. She's challenged and asked to step out of her comfort zone far more in S5 than in any other season (see my many posts elsewhere for my reasoning). And The Body is the single best acting performance of SMG, not only in the show, but in her career. I don't even consider that debatable, and I don't take objections to this seriously at all. And the range of emotions, (especially with her mother's health and after her death) Dawn and being big sister/surrogate mother, and on and on.

I think I misread the question- reading 'of' Buffy instead of 'for' Buffy. 😱

But my answers still the same, sort of- altough I would but 3 and 5 neck and neck.
5 for overall quality, dramatic acting, taking on a god and winning, being a responsible Mom/big sis type.

But S3 has some of the best comedy Buffy one-liners, lots od slushy Bangel stuff, 'The Prom' which is a great Buffy-centric episode, plus her complex relationship/interactions with Faith brought out a side of Buffy we never saw before- in both good and bad ways. 🙂

Season 5, because she has to deal with her mother's death and at the same time has to be there for Dawn and take care of her, and she becomes aware of her own mortality.

I chose season 2, because when I think about her, the first image that comes to my mind is season 2 Buffy Summers. I grew up with her and always looked up to her. She was badass in many different ways and I love how her personality develops during the season. SMG did a really good job with the Angelus arc.
