Which season features your favorite Willow Rosenberg?
(Judging from acting skills, entertainment and character in general)

Probably S3.

We get Willow making her first, tentative steps towards becoming a powerful witch, she has insecurities but they don't define her like they did in Season's 1 and 2, and she's still got that cute, vulnerable quality that she loses in Season 5.

We get Willow trying to be the slayer ('Anne' 🙂), meet Willow's Mom (which explains a lot about her and gives her some great lines- 'fill me with your black, naughty evil!' 🙂) plus her sweet romance with Oz.

AH gets some great material this season - The Wish, Amends (Willow trying to seduce Oz before they decide not to have sex.), Doppelgangerland (where AH plays four characters- Willow, vamp Willow, and the two of them pretending to be each other!). Choices (bravely facing down Faith- cool, and deciding to stay in Sunnydale and help Buffy fight evil- sweet/heart felt) and her and Oz 'consumating' before Graduation Day.

The only downside is the whole Xander/Willow thing that goes on too long and is a pointless way of breaking up the two couples.

Other contenders for her best season are S4 (Willow's angsty season- she spends a lot of time crying. generally being miserable/worried. 🙁), and the end of S7 (Actually from 'Orpheus' onwards) where sweet, brave Willow seems to reappear (after being absent since S5) just in time for the end of the show. Yay.

Probably s4 for me. I love the transition from highschool Willow to university Willow, in my opinion one of the best transition on the show (although they were mostly all done pretty well).

We get to see Willow happy with Oz, probably the happiest she's ever been (prior to s4). And then her world comes crashing down. I'll say it again AH is so good at dramatic scene, I love any scene where she's crying because they feel so dam real. I remember Woz's breakup really really touching me, I think that was the first time I shipped a couple together.

And then we get Tara. I just love Willow and Tara together in that season. Again, great job on the writer's to build a gay relationship properly and not mess it up like it usually happens on every other show. They handled Willow this season just so well. And they had a lot of challenging task and so did AH, so this make s4 for Willow probably her strongest for me.

Of course, this choice is a bit hard because I just love Willow, she's one of my favourite characters. I don't think there's a season that I don't love her character, aside maybe from the whole Xander/Willow thing which felt stupid and out of place to me. Aside from that, I tend to like even the bad stuff.

This is tough because I don't really have a favorite Willow season. I have favorite episodes where AH gets to show how great she is. But I voted for season 3. Like thetopher said, we get Willow learning magic, she has Oz, she learns to step up more in her role in the Scooby Gang. There are so many good scenes that we get with Willow this season that we just don't get after season 4. Season 3, she's still nerdy Willow but not identified as such and yet not identified by her relationship with Tara or her magic. She still has an innocence about her while she learns to stand up for herself and become a woman. Not of fan of the Xander/Willow thing. It lasted way to long. It should have just been the one kiss in Homecoming. That I thought was fine because of the crush Willow had on Xander forever, so I thought that scene worked but it should have stopped there. But I do like that Willow felt bad about it afterwards and just wanted to do whatever it takes to get Oz back. This all just adds to the reasons why season 3 is the best in my opinion.

On the basis that I love Willow all the way through the series, and season 3 is my favourite season of the show, I'll have to vote for season 3.

EDIT: Or, since I can vote for them all, maybe I'll just do that.
