Most hated season that you still love

Name a season that is generally disliked that you truly love. From Buffy or Angel or from both.

For me its Buffy the vampire slayer season 4 and 6
and Angel the series season 4

Buffy season 7. I feel the friendships just faded into the background a bit in season 7. I'd hoped after the gang being so disjointed for a large part of season 6, that season 7 would reunite the Scoobies for the final battle in a way that made them closer than ever... but I can't say i feel that happened. :/
Having said that, it has some great episodes, I love the finale, reintroducing Sunnydale High and many other things about it.

Angel season 4. As much as I didn't like a lot of the stuff they did with Cordelia, it was an epic season. I liked that they tried to do something with a more movie-like feel about it, it all seemed to have a wider scale to it. In so much of that season I felt the stakes were raised really damn high and that was exciting and captivating. Plus Faith and Angelus.
 
Angel season. Even after noticing plotholes.
Buffy season 1. Loved how cheesy it was.

Buffy and Angel seasons 4. They're kind of similar. They both end with an episode that sets up the following season and they have great Faith episodes. If you ignore the big bad plot then I think overall is s good season. Lots of great episodes.
 
So many ppl tell me they hate a season or it just turned them off of Buffy. I just don't get it. To be a true fan u must love it as a whole. Most ppl tell me 4 or 6 was bad. But some even don't like dark willow and stopped watching after that. Some won't read the comics. If I could get my hands on them, I would read them all. But, it's hard to follow from show to comics. If I had to pick. I would say 6. Bc I love the comedy of the trio. But more the serious topics brought up, rape, killing, even before 6 with Riley' s addiction, abused, sex, all of it was so deep. And then the character development was awesome! All the struggles everyone dealt with. Coming from being a rebellious goody two shoes, it's true to my soul. So 6 is the season ppl hate that I love! And Angel is all of it. Everyone talks smack about it, but I love it all bc, it pertains to Buffy. But if I had to pick it would be season 1. It's just so classic and has so many crossover ppl and Doyle, and Wesley first appearance. It's just classic. Plus I love the crossover with Buffy, spike, and Faith! Ok, I'll shut up now.
 
Another shout out for Buffy season 1. It gets a bit of flack for being a short season and taking time to find its feet but I thought it was great. A lot of the comedy this season was brilliant and most importantly we were introduced to the scoobies and I was engaged with them as characters right away.
 
Angel season 4 (though there are certainly parts of it that I could live without 😉)
Buffy season 1 (though I didn't know that this was hated?) I love it, so campy, fun and cute.

I never knew the first season of Buffy was hated. It's one of the top seasons in my opinion.
 
I don't think the first season is hated as such but I've constantly seen it written off by reviewers when talking about the show. The amount of times I've heard the idea that you have to force new watchers to stick with the show because it's so much better after Season 1. So not hated but not appreciated enough for me.

Yes underrated is the more appropriate wording
 
Yeah, which seasons are actually hated?
Feels like every season has a mix of love and hate. Some think it's the best ever and others not so much...

I love every season of BtVS. Some seasons I love more than others but overall so are they all great imho.
So whatever season it is that's considered most hated so do I still love it. 🙂

Yea I don't think it's really hated, more like it just gets over shadowed by all the other seasons. There's a lot of good stuff in S1 and the Master is one of my favorite big bads.
 
I like every season, and Season 4 seems to be the most hated. However, since it seems that many dislike some aspects of Season 6, which is probably my favorite, I guess I'll have to say Season 6.
I can't say which season of Angel, because I haven't watched all of them yet, I don't know which one I like best, and I don't know which one's the most hated 🙄
