Most interesting subplot?

I don't know if subplot is the right word for the thing I want to know. I am talking about a story in BTVS which wasn't the main strory but had importance to the show too! For example her work at school, her time in college or her search for work in the doubblemeat-palace. Which subplot wwas your favorite subplot?

I would have said her training with the potentials, since it made her some sort of mentor (which was something totally new for her, she had barely adjusted to being a legal guardian to Dawn at the time) but the high school story arc was described better and had many more details to it, since it was up for 3 seasons.

I loved the High School. There Buffy had to "rescue" her marks, fought vampires and snakes and she trained with Giles in the library. Those little details, like talking in the breaks with Xander and Willow on the school-floor made Buffy more and more to my favorite TV-show ever! I missed the Sunnydale High when they left for college. Even if I liked the story with Xanders new flat and his room in the basement of his parents too!

I loved the high school 'subplot', the college still worked for me but come the Doublemeat palace I was like, girl get over yourself, it's a job, and tell your lazy-ass friends to pitch in at home too. 😉

The high school just worked as a background for the show, it provided a lot of room for the kids to move around, a lot of plots to be going on around them, and then there's the whole teen angst, high school is hell thing that was just incredibly suitable 🙂

Xander growing up the last 4 seasons. His journey was pretty realistic and normal compared to everyone else's.

I voted for the Doublemeat Palace. Years ago? I probably wouldn't have voted for it. But now, since I'm blossoming as a fresh newcomer in the food service industry, I have so much respect for Buffy during her stint at the Palace, now that I know exactly how it feels.

Xander's journey through season 4, I just loved. While everyone else was off doing the college thing, he was stuck in the basement, living day by day with his menial jobs. His journey out of the basement was very understated, but very cool to see. So much so that it actually becomes a journey/escape in Restless. Right up until The Replacement, when he realises what he is capable of.
