Most Overrated Episodes

What do you think is the most overrated episodes for Buffy & Angel?

I have some that I feel I could name but the ones that stand out for me are
Buffy : Restless
Angel : Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been.

Buffy: The Body and Hush.

Angel: You're Welcome and I Will Remember You.

(Though watching Harmony eagerly volunteer to torture Eve was AWESOME!)
 
I always see The Wish on lists of favorite Buffy episodes but it's just not a favorite of mine. However, it led to Doppelgangland, one of my favorites, so I can't say too much bad about it.

For Angel, I'd have to agree with @AnthonyCordova about Smile Time. I watched Angel all the way through for the first time recently and I was excited for the episode because I'd heard a lot about it but then I didn't end up loving it like everyone seems to 🙁
 
Oh no no no.
Restless, Are You Now or Have you Ever Been, The Wish, The Body, Hush, Once More with Feeling, Smile Time, Home, You're Welcome... all amazing episodes.

Although You're Welcome may be a tad overrated in my opinion.


I'd say A Hole in the World, Killed by Death, School Hard, Showtime & Spin the Bottle (love it but Life of the Party is even better)

Chosen - It is not bad, just not as good as it should be. It is not as good as Not Fade Away, Prophecy Girl, Becoming, Graduation Day, Primeval, Restless, The Gift or Grave.

I never watch Chosen by myself, because it makes me feel so lonesome 😛 No more episodes. No more Scoobies.

I love Chosen, but I understand the lonely feeling. Every time I watch that episode I feel sad for days because I've never found another show I love as much as Buffy, and watching the end makes me remember that :'(
I only have eyes for you is so good! And not really talked about. I think it's a great classic monster of the week high school episode with great spooky atmosphere.

I said Killed by Death because it's one of my least favorite episodes and I don't think most people rank it as low as me. and der Kindestod isn't that scary... Okay he is pretty damn terrifying but he could've done more.

I'm with you on Killed by Death being low ranking. Not only is it a poor episode, but it's sandwiched between Passion and I Only Have Eyes for you. Why!!
"Family." I think it's a good message episode. As for the plot and story and making a lick of sense, I think it's a good message episode.
 
Family is one of my favorite episodes; it's heartwarming, fills in Tara's backstory & gives her more depth as well as giving more depth to the scooby gang as a family. It's beautifully shot and was a great moment in Season 5 before the $hit hit the fan.

I agree that Tabula Rasa is probably overrated though. As far as group spells gone awry episodes go though, it is very fun but Teeth is kind of a cringey/gimmicky villain, it's entertaining but kind of lame to see our favorite characters reduced to amnesic wimps but it's mostly the ending that kills it- I hate Tara & Willow breaking up and Giles leaving...and Buffy & Spike making out in the Bronze was kind of awkward.... even for me as a Spuffy fan.
 
The more I watch "Tabula Rasa" the less I like it; the premise grosses me out, the literal loan shark makes me cringe, and I just don't think the episode is nearly as insightful as it wants me to believe it is.

I'm not really sure of any overrated Angel episodes... I suppose "Waiting in the Wings" though I don't think it gets that much love on this particular site. I really dislike the episode "Billy" but I'm not sure what the general perception of that episode is.
