This is just to ask you guys who you felt had the most post buffy and angel success, this discussion is intended for the main cast and the major recurring characters but feel free to include some guest stars or people who appeared in just like one episode if you want.
My vote goes to Alyson Hannigan btw, i just think American Pie and HIMYM really gives her the leg up, the mainstream success of these has gotten her to a level when she's not just famous for 'willow'.

PS: just thought I d include some famous stuff the main buffy cast did that I know of for
those of you who dont know
Alyson-as written above
Nicholas-recurring character in Criminal Minds
SMG-Scooby Doo,The Ringer
Antony-Merlin
Charisma-guest starred in Charmed
David-Bones
Eliza-Dollhouse
Michelle-Gossip girl
Seth green-family guy, Austin powers

Im know what Ive listed above is just a fraction of their post buffy appearances but just wanted to get the ball rolling and also i dont know it all.

I would also say Alyson. But I think David Boreanaz would be a close second with Bones. It will be interesting to see what happens once their shows end. I also think Seth Green has had a pretty stable career.

I would also put Eliza Dushku in the conversation behind the three listed above me. She had quite a few movies in the mid and early 2000s not to mention guest starring roles. Most characters from Buffy and Angel seem to max out at guest starring roles in successful shows. Seeing as I have only been watching Buffy/Angel for less than a year I still recognize Dawn as the hottie from Eurotrip, Willow as Lily from HIMYM, and Angel as Booth although he is starting to work his way into being recognized as Angel more and more lol. Even Giles I originally new as Uther Pendragon from Merlin.

Pretty much how I see it - Alison has had more variation in her career and has developed an identity outside of Buffy first ("One time, at band camp...") and now has the How I Met Your Mother series.

Bones has been a great franchise for David - he went from continuous employment on Buffy and Angel to continuous employment on Bones, but his chemistry with Emily Deschanel is nowhere near as good as his chemistry with Sarah.

I would also like to add Anthony Head to the list. He probably has done the most diverse work outside of BtVS and has stared in two major shows: Little Britain and Merlin (although he's probably stared in less episode than Aly and David). He's also done quite a few movies, but is definitely more popular in Great Britain than he is here.

Absolutely, I think I would almost put him above Aly, particularly with the breadth of work he's done since
My vote is a three way tie between Alyson, David, and Seth. Seth because not only does he have a recurring role on a hit cartoon show, he also has his own stop motion show that does pretty well. Alyson is pretty obvious, and David has Bones to be proud of as well.

I'd say Alyson Hannigan, David Boreanaz and Seth Green.
Alyson had huge success with the four American Pie movies, which grossed about $990 million worldwide, and with How I Met Your Mother.
David went from Buffy to Angel and the year after Angel he went on to Bones which is still on the air.
Seth has great success with Family Guy and his own show Robot Chicken and has appeared in quite a few movies, for example, Austin Powers or The Italian Job.

Amy Adams was in one episode. This was one of her first roles and she went on to do movies like Steven Spielberg's Catch Me If You Can with Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio, The Fighter with Christian Bale and she's starring in the upcoming Man of Steel movie by Christopher Nolan. She's been nominated for 4 Academy Awards.

Yeah I listed mine based on how well they were able to move past being only known for their character on Buffy. If you were to ask people who Alyson Hannigan is, I think most people would now say Lily from HIMYM or the girl from American Pie. Same for David, Seth, and Anthony.

Whereas if you asked people who Sarah Michelle Gellar is they'd still say Buffy, if they know her name at all. Not to say she hasn't been successful post Buffy. She just hasn't been able to move past only being known for that role. And in her case it could just be because she was the title role.

I also forgot to mention Bianca Lawson and Julie Benz. They have also had a pretty good career post Buffy.

Oh, and yet another BTVS guest star, who became pretty successful, is Clea DuVall. She played Marcie in Out of Mind, Out of Sight and since then she's been, for example, in the movies Argo and Girl, Interrupted, and in the shows American Horror Story and Heroes.

I agree with Blaze about Anthony Stewart Head. His post-Buffy success may be less visible because it's mostly in Britain, but he's worked pretty much constantly since Buffy, including one-off appearances (Spooks, Silent Witness, Monarch of the Glen, New tricks, Murder Investigation Team, Hotel Babylon, Doctor Who), movies (Sparkle, The Iron Lady, Fat Slags, Imagine Me & You, Percy Jackson) and t.v. series (Little Britain, Merlin, The Invisibles, Manchild, Sold, Dancing on the Edge, Free Agents (U.K. and U.S. versions) and Warehouse 13).

I totally forgot she was in an episode of Buffy. She has definitely had an amazing career post Buffy. Actually thinking about it now, a lot of actors who appeared on the show have had pretty good careers.

Let's not forget Danny Strong who starred in Gilmore Girls, Mad Men, won 2 emmys and is now writing the screen play for the Hunger Games series. Not too bad, Jonathan. Maybe this is an alternate reality. 😛

I would say alyson, david, seth, amy acker, and Vincent karthiser(conner) he's in a big role on mad men

As others have said before, Alyson, Anthony Stewart Head, and Seth Green have had the most success. Alyson's in HIMYM, ASH is in Game Of Thrones, and Seth is well known amongst comedy circles for Robot Chicken and Family Guy.
