What's the most random thing you've done that can also be categorized as a normal thing to do? Feel free to interoperate the question however you like.

Can you vague that up for me?

I know, really random :P
As I'm minimalist when it comes to makeup and jewelry (and there's typically a story for each item of jewelry I wear, a lot of it not something many would wear themselves), it surprises many when I take a spa day. I don't take part in everything there, but I still pay for a lot. I more like the treatment (it relaxes me so and can be so soothing) than its lasting effects.

(Though I think my reaction of being told how beautiful I am when I have my hair done at the same time, typically a pixie cut of some sort, implies I wasn't before, is unusual in that I feel amused rather than insulted. But I recognize it as a sales method to get me to come back when I feel insecure about my looks, and so don't go off on them, and once joked that "the snakes always grow back even angrier than before" in a reference to medusa that I don't know if they lady who just cut my hair got or not, she was certainly confused by my response.)

I consider one random thing funny, though others might find it sad. While roasting in a Texas heatwave in my grandmother's home (she was hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism at the time, about 10 years ago to the day now), a cousin made Rice Krispy treats with ganja butter. I don't think I've done drugs (save very rare social drinking, and can count the times I got a real buzz on one hand) since I was 21, and at first I turned him down, but he was so earnest, especially for my opinion given that I stayed away from drugs, that I finally took a few.

The house has no AC, only fans, and when the heat literally gets above 100 Fahrenheit/38 Celsius, then fans just make it worse. My mom lives in a small trailer (in sight of the house), but it has AC. We don't get along that well, but she has addiction problems. So I took the treats to my mom and said I'd split them with her for a few hours of her AC. (Edited To Add: AC means Air Conditioning. Seems obvious, but so do many other abbreviations that someone finds confusing, so I thought to define it.)

She not only eagerly took them, but she took a bottle of brandy out of the friggin freezer, and we both got off on brandy and pot treats while laughing up a storm.

It was a day well spent, and I'll treasure that "ordinary day" in which I got along with my mom really well (though I never sought to repeat it), and no doubt think on it when I finally attend her funeral. My cousin was ecstatic saying if his ganja could get even and my mom to get along well like that then he was...to keep this non-vulgar, I'll just say very good with making ganja treats.

(In case this confuses anyone, I DO consider alcohol and other recreational drug use normal, and myself abnormal for abstaining, especially as I don't have to take drug tests. The last movie I went to a couple of days ago sold liquor, and the smell of pot was strong with no raised eyebrows. I'm the only one my cousin had to ask more than once and no one else refused him. So getting high and drunk are both normal. Just look at all those in prison and rehab for it, and yet the dealers never seem to run out of customers.

I'd think a woman visiting her mother whose home is in sight is almost as normal, too, especially as--like many who visit parents--I had the ulterior motive of enjoying her air conditioning, that is I visited to get something rather than to see her, though we did enjoy ourselves that day, it wasn't fake niceness, at least not on my part.

Therefore, to randomly do both instead of farm chores while waiting for my grandmother, her mother, to get out of the hospital seems like a random yet normal thing to do. I'm curious how many adult children get high with their parents at least once, even if both sides do drugs themselves, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was a lot.)

I'm not sure this fits but when I put a few old emails from my inbox into the bin on Gmail it's random but something I'm sure people do a lot more often than I do.

No sorry, there isn't time .. .. .. tee hee.
I saw a few bushes burning so I put water on the fire, I found other people did the same and they were organised so I joined them. I continued doing that for over 15 years. My random act became a normal thing to do.
