Most unbelievable casting choices?

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther. I haven't the words. I was worse than I was expecting.
Tom Hardy as Mad Max in MM: Fury Road. It was a good movie but he wasn't right for the part.
Val Kilmer in Batman Forever. Also Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey lol.
Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy in Batman & Robin. In fact just that entire movie was miscast. Joel did his best to kill the franchise.
Jessica Alba in Sin City 2 lol.

Vin Diesel in almost anything (Pitch Black is why).
Megan Fox in almost anything (Jennifer's Body is why).

Agreed with most of those. Great shouts on Eisenberg and Hardy. Eisenberg was so poorly cast than when I saw the trailer I thought he was playing the Joker😀

Thought Thurman was good as Ivy and the only thing which saved that rotten Batman film😛

Well lets be honest that is almost nothing outside of their looks for Fox and Alba so what else are you going to cast them as?😉

I completely agree about Jesse Eisenberg!

Even though I haven't seen Doctor Strange yet, I don't like Cumberbatch so far. Not that he's a bad actor, I just only see him and not the character. I hope that changes when I see the movie.

Heather Graham in From Hell
Do you not buy her with an accent or her as a prostitute? Cause that's kind of her stereotype. She was a porn star in Boogie Nights and a stripper in The Hangover.

I'd bet the accent. Also despite her playing a prostitute in From Hell, the character is supposed to a Mary Poppins style innocent type. The Hangover thing depresses me. Graham should not go from great films like Boogie Nights and Swingers to that rubbish😀

I like The Hangover
The whole movie of Avatar the Last Airbender. I've never seen a movie with worst casting. The whitewashing was strong with this one.

To be fair Mark Hamil is no Dicaprio, either. 😉

Unpopular opinion but I think Hayden was just as good as Anakin as Mark Hamill was as Luke. But as a whole, Star Wars never had GREAT acting
To be fair Mark Hamil is no Dicaprio, either.

True, but that can be put at least partially down to his youth. And he had some powerful scenes in RotJ. But I've seen HC in 'Jumper' and he's still a horribly wooden actor devoid of any sort of charisma.
He played Anakin as a creepy obsessive stalker that morphed into a petulant child-killing sociopath, all whilst being one of the most inanimate actors I've ever seen.

I'm going to go with a strong choice...... the most unbelievable casting choice.... Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron Man

Hear me out. He's excellent in the role and it saved his career, but this is an actor who was at the peak of his game in the early-mid 90s, before he got messed up in drug and alcohol addictions. He tried to get clean and come back, but fell into his addictions again and he became poison to work with. He was literally written out of Hollywood. They said he'd never work again. By all accounts, he was and should have been a has-been. He was destined to become one of those 'where are they now?' actors.

But he sorted out his life, he got clean and sober and stayed clean and sober, which is remarkable in itself but he also worked hard to try to build up his career and his reputation again. Jon Favreau knew RDJ would be perfect as Tony Stark, but he also knew he had his work cut out to convince Marvel Studios to agree and invest, not only in a relatively unknown character, but also in someone like Downey as the lead role. It was a massive gamble for the studio, but RDJ proved he was perfect for the role and now he's one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, and he's still clean and sober.

Now that's what I call an unbelievable casting choice.😉

Aly Hannigan is too beautiful and hot for the character of Willow. It's unbelievable that in S1 no one wants to date her.

And its also unbelievable that Buffy and Xander are seen as outcast and that Katie Holmes played the meek girl next door in Dawson's Creek. Its called television casting. Hannigan was so good she was able to convince through her physical movements and facial expressions than she had those confidence issues.

Joss mentions in the Welcome to the Hellmouth commentary that the network wanted hot people to play Xander and Willow. Xander is too buff to be a nerd and Willow is too cute, too.
