Most Underrated Episode

I didn't know that The Zeppo was unpopular, I thought that many loved it. 🙂


For me I adore Where the Wild Things Are, I guess most fans hate it for the Buffy/Riley sex, but there's the wonderful exploration of the Xander/Anya relationship, Xander saving the day again, Giles singing, the wonderful Spike and Anya scene. It's filled with awesome.

I actually really enjoy Beer Bad, but I think most underrated is The Pack. Sure a lot of people like it, but to me, it's one of the best episodes of all time.

Normal Again..i know lots of people dislike it cause of the suggestion that it could all be fake...but i think the episode was executed well plus joyce was back briefly

It seems some episodes mentionned here aren't really underrated at all :confused2:

For me it's Puppet Show on BtVS, it's hilaaaarious and I love Sid! Also first time watching it, I thought the suspense was pretty good. At the time I thought Snyder was the real demon haha 😛 That scene when Giles see him and he doesn't say a word and leave, I was like IT'S HIIIIIIIIM!

On Angel, I reaaaaally like The Ring even though most peoples think it's lame.

I'd probably say "Go Fish." It's so silly, but the gang's reaction to Xander in a Speedo is pretty funny.

Intervention is one of my favorites. I don't know if it's underrated but I like S7 pre-potentials like Same Time, Same Place and Help.

The best line from Intervention:

" I'm not having sex with Spike! But I'm starting to think you might be!"

I don't know if it's underrated, but I never heard anyone talk about it anyway - A new man on Buffy! SOO funny! Also, I didn't know it was underrated, but based on this thread it seems to be - Sense and sensitivity on Angel! I'm watching Angel for the first time now and am only on season 2, but that's my favourite episode so far! So friggin funny!

A few from Buffy:

Witch - It's in my top three from Season 1; I just love it! Combines a perfect blend of suspense, cheesy-ness, and humor.
Him - Just hilarious. Probably the funniest episode of Buffy ever.

Not really sure if these are all that underrated, but I've read a quite a bit of criticism:

• Him - I think it's hilarious; Buffy trying to blow up Wood, Xander and Spike stealing RJ's jacket, and every time that music starts once the jacket puts its spell over a girl. <33
• Normal Again - psychology is totally my biggest interest, and seeing the buffyverse through a more realistic, psychological point of view really intrigues me. Even though I love it, I can't watch it over and over like other episodes, though.
• Witch
• Gingerbread - By far in my top five all time favorite episodes of btvs. "Did I get it? Did I get it?" XD Oz is wonderful in this episode, too, imo.

I'd make a list of Angel episodes, but I haven't made it through the entire series again yet. It's been well over a few years since I've seen the series in it's entirety.

I see a lot of people saying they're favorite underrated episode of Angel is Sense and Sensitivity. It's underrated? :[ I love that episode!

My final Numero Uno underrated ep is Wrecked, I've decided. I think people just kind of group with the Smashed-Wrecked-Gone trio, but I think it's really one of the series's best. It's on it's way to being my favorite episode. It's so emotionally wrenching and a real turning point in the season.

Lets see.....

Buffy- Either Beer Bad for ending the insipid Parker storyline (the ending almost feels like an apology from the writing staff) or The Zeppo which I say is underrated simply because it is probably one of the five best episodes they ever made and no one seems to talk about it in that vein.

Angel- Well, I think the whole series is underrated, but for me, Somnambulist is probably the most underrated episode of the series. I NEVER hear people talking about it, and I think it is probably the best episode of their original concept (dark sci-fi noir). Really interesting scenes with Kate discovering what Angel is, and the confrontation in the sewer. Just fantastic and the kind of thing I wish the show had done more of.
