Actually, your hair does continue to grow after you're dead, but not for very long. We're only talking about a few days here, nothing more. Lots of bodily processes will continue functioning, in some manner, for a few hours or days after death. This is why you often hear stories of dead bodies making noises, or even moving slightly oftentimes scaring any living person nearby to death.

It's interesting. I've never known about this before.

Fred's parents come to visit, and Illyria takes Fred's form.
They mention how nice the scientists are to "Fred". I'm pretty sure they'd be like "Oh Fred you're alive!" and it would raise question.

That actually doesn't bother me. The one place in the world it might not be too unusual to see your dead boss wandering the halls is the Wolfram and Hart building. Contracts last a loooong time there.

Cordelia was definitely the only one to have a cellphone until S7. There are TONS of scenes of Buffy, Dawn, Willow, Xander, & Anya using landlines or payphones. Though Giles did have a beeper in S1. I think Buffy and Xander both decided to get cellphones in Lessons and bought one as a present for Dawn.

People did question Giles' involvement in the younger Scoobie's lives. Holden DID mention that there was a rumor at school that Buffy was dating a really old guy. I bet they meant Giles since Angel doesn't look "really old". Maggie Walsh looked at Giles questionably when he said he was Buffy's friend. Spike said he always wondered if there was something going on between Buffy & Giles.

I think Buffy got around town quickly because she has that Slayer speed. She can catch arrows and knives and stake vamps by throwing stakes and poles.

It never occured to me that the parents took off running to let their teenage children fight the giant snake demon! That made me laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes.

I agree with Mini. Buffy had so MANY chances to kill Spike, but she never did.

Spike\s ability to get drunk, not to mention eating those onion things at the Bronze that he seemed so fond of, always irked me and struck me as incredibly human... he's dead, how does he digest food? Also I guess I just have a problem with the concept of a drunk vampire.(and yes I know that they walk around and sleep around and all that which also requires a flow of the bloodstream but that seems easier to accept for some reason)

I hated that they kept acting like Dawn was all alone because she didn't have any friends. Yes she did!!! They were the girls it showed her talking on the phone with, spending the night at their houses, learning how to make casadillas with their moms, sneaking out of the house party with, etc.

Most unrealistic part for me is the fights themselves they have throughout the show. Like, somebody knocks you across the room and instead of rushing up and beating the crap out of you while you're lying on the ground they slowly walk toward you and let you get up. Also in some of the fights vs. vampires they can go like a minute just sparring before she FINALLY pulls out the stake.. like, really? Why didn't you just pull the stake out to start? Also, people get knocked out a LOT.. and sometimes a little too easily.. especially when Buffy gets knocked out, you'd think as the slayer she'd have a natural resistance to that sort of thing.

I love the banter in the fight scenes. Especially if its between two rivals like Buffy and Spike. The fights wouldn't be the same without the talking. Spike and Buffy were so good at making those scenes entertaining, not just their fists but also with their mouths.

I'm not saying I don't like the banter, I'm saying it looks really silly when they just stop in the middle of a fight to slag each other off 🙂 I mean they actually just stop sometimes, two or three feet from each other & trade barbs, it gives their opponent more than enough time to crack them in the jaw but they never do. My fav superhero is Spiderman & in his comics he is the king of slagging off his opponent in a fight, he actually used it as a tactic to throw his adversary off their game. He would, however, usually do it from a safe distance 🙂

I never picked up on the whole issue of letting people up. I think on some occasions that Buffy was so confident in her ability that she would let the vampires up just to knock them back down again. That was particular the case in fights where you could tell she felt in complete control as she'd always crack some sort of joke.

Most of the banter came when someone had got the upper hand and knocked someone down. In theory you would think they would just keep attacking their victim on the floor but that wasn't Buffy, Faith, Spike or Angel's style. They oozed confidence.

Huh! There's a lot but these are fantasy shows 😛 Anyway i'll name what comes to mind right now.

Buffy: Three nerds that can build robots that look exactly like humans? Summon demons at will? Cast all kind of magic? What the hell!

Angel: Cordy get visions so clear that she somehow know the address of where whatever is happening(lol!).

The Scoobies never learning any self defense skills made no sense. Giles should have at least tried to train them.

There are a lot of inconsistencies in both shows in terms of how powerful certain demons are, especially vampires, and how accessible and powerful magic is. I think vampire strength was a lot less consistent in Buffy where they seem to have trouble with normal vampires even in later seasons. It's a lot better in Angel, where they consistently became more effective in dealing with vampires to the point where Gunn was able to fight them as easily as a Slayer in the series finale. It's the same thing with magic. Willow had trouble casting some pretty weak spells but then that idiot zombie guy from "The Zeppo" was able to easily raise zombies who seemingly retained their former personalities.

There are obviously tons of problems with the government being involved in fighting demons.

There are quite a few unrealistic inconsistencies in the show's mythology. I'd say the obliviousness of the general public to the existence of the various supernatural elements is probably the silliest. The show attempts to handwave this in the first episode, with Giles explaining that people are likely to rationalise such things, but there's no way that works. Even if the authorities know about the supernatural and want to cover it up (we know as much in the case of Sunnydale, possible but not definite in L.A.), vampires, demons, etc. are frequently seen by people not in the know (and there are even more conspicuous events like a giant snake in Graduation Day). Given the existence of demon locales like Caritas or Willy's Place that anyone can walk into, the existence of demons should definitely be public knowledge.
