Which Character's death upset you the most?

Definitely Tara. I would lay awake at night and think "Why Joss, why?" Pathetic, that's me.

I voted for Tara. The comes Jonathan, Joyce, Anya, Spike...I haven't seen Chosen yet, but I've seen clips of Anya and Spike's deaths...and I haven't seen any of those in Angel die (not really looking forward to it!)
The Body was the saddest episode ever, but I didn't feel like crying everytime I watched old episodes and saw Joyce. But I did with Tara, and for weeks after I'd seen her die, whenever i heard her singing in OMWF, I started crying. (especially on the "wish I could stay")part!
Jonathan...I think that was so sad cos I love the guy, and he was the only one I didn't know would die. I had absolutely no idea! I was sitting there in shock for minutes, crying...I just love that guy so much! it should have been the other way around, Jonathan killing Andrew, not cos I don't like Andrew, cos I do like him, I just think Jonathan deserved better.

I said Anya. It was just so sudden...and Xander still loved her and everything....it was upsetting. Especially at the end.

I tried to keep it more main-charactery..but I put the other because I always forget things. I didn't put Warren in for my own selfish reasons that I thought that he deserved what he got. And Andrew didn't die 😀..I'm guessing you meant Johnathan...yeah his death was sad...I always felt pretty bad for the guy...never finding his place - even among nerds and having the guy who he thinks is his closest friend kill him...

Yeah...I meant Jonathan...

Stoopid Lee....

Maybe she really is Cordelia in desguise..
I mean, the least obvius name would probely be cordelia, if you really were..

Buffy's death in season 5 was so sad. I think that was the only episode I ever cried during.

out of all the deaths that upseted me the most i think it would be cordys death because i never even expected her to ever die until the series would end

What About Spike!?

Alright, alright, I know Spike came back in ATS S5, but still, I cried when he burst into dust! He had one of the most noble deaths....alright, alright, some other people died savin' people and junk, but still... 😡 waaah! And nobody can use the "yeh, but he came back" defense, because Buffy came back after BTVS S5...

But, all in all, I am glad he came back... :bbounce:

Really, Wes dying...in Fred's arms...that was a tearjerker. Anya's was so quick! I didn't even know she was dead because I missed it!
Tara's death was sorta...I dunno...DONT GET ME WRONG, TOTALLY sad...but we had no chance to really mourn...like it was covered up by Willow's mad magick-spree. I know, it was all in the name of Tara, but she got really over-venganc-y there, and I forgot all about the reason why. And in BTVS S7, she hardly acted like she missed Tara, with the snogging of Kennedy and all...

GUNN...we didn't get to see him die, but I would have payed good money to see him croak...so THAT was the most upsetting death...because I DIDN'T SEE IT HAPPEN!

Definately Taras. I mean most Whedonverse deaths are involving some sort of demon or mystical power. Taras was different. And aside from Dawn she was kindof an innocent of the group, you know? And the fact that her and Willow just reconciled was unfortunate. :bluesad:

I'm going with Cordelia.

She was my favorite character from both shows put together and i had tears running down my cheeks when i found out about her death.

A close second would be Buffy in The Gift. I was depressed for days after that.

Joyce was actually the most unsettling to me. It really came out of nowhere and it was just so realistic and sad. I was irked for a whole week after watching The Body.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but I was also quite sad when Johnathan was killed. It was so shocking and I couldn't see Andrew doing that in a million years. Also Johnathan just seemed like a background character that would always be around and his look on his face was so full of hurt and betrayal. He wasn't a main character but he was a really cool backgroundy guy that was fun to catch up with ever so often...plus he starred in the matrix 🙂

I have to side with those who couldn't decide. I actually voted for Lindsey, of all people, because I had hoped he might become a good guy . . . (I'm always rooting for the underdog!) and then he got popped off hitman-style by Lorne, a.k.a. "The Host" just as the leaf was turning . . . Of course, I knew the glory that was "Angel" was ending.

At any rate, I think I mourned Wesley the most because I began to identify with him towards the end. He had this brief, up until such-and-such a point unrequited love with Fred, and then to have her demolished from the inside out, in a downspiral of events leading up to his doom. Poor fella!

Of course, I love the "surprise" deaths that Whedon invariably pulls off w/ immediacy and little "resolution." I mean, was there a denoument after Buffy threw herself into the pit/vortex/mystical portal . . . thing? I sure didn't see it. I was just WHAM! and then a bunch of Scooby-doo onlookers gaping . . .

So, in conclusion, I really can't decide. Most every demise of Whedon's "brain children" (sounds like a cool ep title!) is potent, portentious, and precocious, a lot like life, a little like television magic. I wish both series were still going . . . Now that's a death worth talking about.

I think I mentioned it. I mentioned it somewhere once atleast...lol!
I hated that he died. He had been on the show for so long, most of the time only as a background character, but I always loved the guy. It was so sad when he died!

This may seem weird...but...Darla's death in S1 was actually quite sad. I mean, I know she's all "GRR!" with the being evil thing and all...but when Angel stabbed her...I dunno. The lighting was perfect, just outlining Angel's shape, and Darla's face, and when she turns and says, "Angel?" like, "WHOA man, you just stabbed me!" I never saw it coming. She loved him {or what could be counted as love for a souless creature} and he killed her...hmmm...

Her death on Angel was very sad too. :sigh:

All of their deaths were pretty sad. My top three are:

1) Cordy
2) Buffy (the gift)
3) Doyle 🙁

All these deaths were unexpected. I especially didn't think Doyle would sacrafice himself like that, he was a hero.
